Lucian woke up feeling like crushed rocks. Jeez, just how many times does he have to pass out?
“Lucian, you okay bro?” asked Cavian’s voice. Lucian looked up and saw Cavian, Jay and Professor Pearce looking down at him. “I feel like my head weighs like a ton of bricks,” mumbled Lucian, “Where am I?”
“In the infirmary,” explained Professor Pearce, “We took you here just as you passed out.”
Lucian looked around. He saw other hospital beds, some occupied by injured Hybrids as the Healers took care of them. He heard beeping from the machines, and in front of the entrance/exit of the Infirmary is two security guards, both the same height, which is almost seven feet, and looked like in their mid-thirties. One has black hair, while the other one is blonde.
“Who are they?” asked Lucian, “Are they Hybrids to?”
Jay nodded, “They help with security. They’re in the Mythical Class and are twins. One is half Fire Giant, and the other is half Ice Giant.”
Lucian made a small wave. The two security guards just stared blankly at the room, as if daring anyone to steal something or to make a break for it from eating nasty medicine. Realizing they won’t wave back, Lucian awkwardly put his hand down. Cavian whispered in his ear, “They take their jobs seriously. Heck, they don’t even laugh when I make a joke.”
“So which one is which?” asked Lucian.
“The blonde one is Gale,” said Cavian, “The black haired one is Evan. I’m pretty sure you can tell the rest.”
Lucian nodded, guessing that Gale is the Ice Giant and Evan is the Fire Giant. He looked over at the Professor, “Now what?”
“First off, how are you feeling?” asked Professor Pearce, “Can you walk?”
With difficulty, Lucian sat up and got up. He felt slightly dizzy once he reached the ground, but otherwise Lucian felt fine. He can walk just like normal. Lucian looked up and nodded at the Prof, “Whatever is in that healing medicine you guys dose me with, it works great. I feel fine.”
Professor Pearce chuckled, “I’m glad.”
“So Lucian,” said Jay, grinning, “You ready?”
Lucian blinked, “Ready? Ready for what?”
Cavian had a big smile on his face, as if he just saw the world’s biggest cake and someone told him it was all his, “You and Skyler can go to the House of Fate!”
“I was going to say that,” grumbled Jay. He then laughed, “But yeah. It’s time to find out what your Class is. Follow us.”
It took a lot to convince the Giant twins that Lucian was alright and he was allowed to leave the Infirmary. Apparently, despite how threatening they look, they have a small spot for the injured. Lucian didn’t quite get why they were overprotective of him if they just met him.
“So,” said Lucian as they walked throughout the Organization, “how does the House of Fate work actually?”
“You’ll see,” said Jay, grinning. Lucian groaned, “Jeez, what is it with you and surprises Jay?”
“They’re fun,” he laughed, “Also, it drives you crazy.” Lucian rolled his eyes. Professor Pearce chuckled, “Come on, this way.”
Lucian frowned as he looked at his surroundings. He never been to this part of the Organization yet. They walked in a narrow passageway of lime stone. It got narrower and narrower, and before Lucian knew it he and the others were walking sideways.
