When Lucian woke up he heard knocking on the door. He gasped as he pulled himself up. How long was he knocked out? That nightmare, his past . . .
Lucian shook his head. Now was not the time to be emotional. He needs to be strong.
The knocking became louder and more urgent, causing Lucian to grown. Can’t he just stay passed out on the floor, were he couldn’t hurt anyone and just relive that nightmare? It’s better than hurting someone in the present.
“Lucian, open up!” said Jay’s voice, “Don’t make me kick down this door medieval style!”
Lucian groaned even more, until he finally dragged himself off the ground and unlocked his door. Jay appeared at the door, his arms crossed as he looked at him with one eyebrow raised.
“What?” snapped Lucian.
“Your eyes are watery,” noticed Jay, “Were you . . . crying or something?”
Lucian cursed under his breath as he wiped his eyes with his sleeve, “Just resting my eyes.”
He wouldn’t meet Jay’s eyes. Once he got over the shock from the nightmare, Lucian asked, “So when’s dinner?”
Jay chuckled, “Must have been some resting you’ve done. You skipped dinner. It’s time for your battle.”
When Jay mentioned training in the tour, Lucian assumed he meant an arena. Not a freaking Coliseum!
They first went to the Main Building and Jay walked down the hallway to an open room. Nothing was in it except the blue Teleporter and a sign that says “Fighting is here” on the wall, with an arrow pointing to the Teleporter.
Jay grinned at Lucian, “Ready?”
“I guess,” said Lucian, “Who am I fighting?”
“Logan.”
“Then I am so ready,” Lucian said, grinning mischievously, “Let’s do this.”
Jay chuckled and they went to the Teleporter. Jay said, “Well, you heard the guy. Coliseum please.”
Lucian’s eyes widened in surprise, “Wait, you guys have a Coli―?”
Their bodies vanished as they got Teleported. Before Lucian could even blink, he found himself on a different Teleporter at the entrance to a Coliseum, surrounded by tall mountains, the night sky covered with stars. Lucian could see the ocean surrounded the island, and when he looked behind him he could see the Sports Area of the Organization, about ten or twenty feet away, maybe thirty.
The Coliseum itself though, that was cool.
It toward over him, about more than one hundred feet tall in height, made out of concrete and stone. It looks to hold about fifty thousand people, and Lucian could hear cheering from the inside. It has archways from the bottom to the top, with arches on the outside.
“There’s a battle already going?” asked Lucian. Jay nodded, “Yeah, Skyler’s battle. It started a couple minutes ago, and I am pretty sure she’s winning. Come on.”
Lucian nodded and went through the entrance. As he got to the opening, he saw Skyler in bronze armor, battling another Hybrid with a sword in his hand. Sitting in the Emperor’s booth is Professor Pearce, along with another man that Lucian didn’t recognize. Lucian whispered to Jay, “Who’s that?”
