YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS GATHERED AROUND THE PICNIC BENCH OF THE PARK BY THE SCHOOL.

chaeyoung and dahyun sat beside each other, jeongyeon and nayeon were hand in hand, jihyo invited leo from the restaurant, and you and tzuyu were close together.

and in front of the eight of you sat untouched grapes and blueberry muffins from the cafe you went to with chae, dahyun, and tzuyu the first time you all hung out.

after telling your dad about tzuyu's pregnancy (which he was totally not ecstatic but mad about), you and tzuyu decided to tell your closet friends. they all took it different ways.

chaeyoung was very excited but cautious. she wanted to be the godmother, and she made sure tzuyu knows how she will always be there in case anything happens. chaeyoung said jihyo shouldn't be the only one she relies on, chaeyoung is someone tzuyu can count on.

dahyun first hit you on the arm and scolded you for not taking care of yourself before doing anything with tzuyu. tzuyu had blushed just thinking of that night. dahyun also said she wants to be a godmother, and she even went as far as telling her grandmother to prepare matching shirts for her and the baby.

jihyo already knew and just smiled at the couple and how far they had come. leo fell deeper in love just looking at jihyo's smile.

jeongyeon gasped in shock. it's not everyday your girlfriend's ex boyfriend knocks his girlfriend up. jeongyeon instantly took the role of a care taker, making sure tzuyu was alright and fine in temperature. she even checked up on you and made sure you and her were mentally and physically prepared.

nayeon said something along the lines of: "so you couldn't kiss me when were dating, but you can knock tzuyu up?"

the joke made jeongyeon push nayeon off the bench. nayeon just laughed.

you and tzuyu had it all planned out. she would stay in school until graduation where she would attend online school at the apartment your dad promised to pay the first month's rent of. you would go to the college nearby the apartment and come home to let tzuyu rest as you take care of the baby. once he or she was old enough, tzuyu would try for a job and maybe even go to a real university. you will already have a job in your dad's kitchen, enough to pay rent and take care of your family.

it all worked out.

tzuyu rested her head on your shoulder, popping a grape into her mouth and sighing out in content at the taste. you wrap an arm around her shoulder, bringing her warm body in closer.

"i can't believe school is ending soon," jihyo states, looking up and the blue sky littered with fluffy, white clouds.

nayeon hums, swinging her legs back and forth. "yeah, it feels like just yesterday i was hung up on trying to get kai to like me again."

"remember when you threatened to tell everyone i was gay?" jeongyeon asked.

chaeyoung chuckled. "nobody liked you, nay. now you're just a little bit more tolerable."

nayeon pushed chaeyoung's shoulder with a giggle.

"oh! how about when we marathoned american horror story, and kai couldn't sleep for a month!" dahyun laughed, recalling the fear you felt upon watching the scary season of the witches, something you still have nightmares about.

tzuyu giggled, looking up and your red face. "he came to school looking like a zombie," she laughed.

leo laughed as well, listening as the group shared more and more memories. like the time nayeon, jeongyeon, jihyo, chae, and dahyun all came over to help tzuyu get ready for her date and dyed her hair. it was the first time they had all hung out along with sana, momo, and mina.

"hey, how did each of you meet?" leo asked with genuine interest in how such different people met.

tzuyu couldn't help but burst into laughs when thinking of dahyun's meeting with chaeyoung, making dahyun turn beet red.

"oh, you have to hear this one!" jihyo laughed, pointing to dahyun who looked less than eager to share. you nodded, excitedly.

"it's so embarrassing." dahyun whined out.

chaeyoung chuckled. "it was all you. she freaking spilled water on me on purpose, and said some freaky stuff about making me wet, weirdo!"

the group of friends around the picnic table burst into laughs as dahyun hid her face in her hands.

"don't laugh at me," dahyun warned. "nayeon and jeongyeon hooked up and thought they were slick about it, kai was a little bitch and couldn't get tzuyu on his own until three years later, and we all thought jihyo was gay until valentines day."

"wait? you all knew about me and nayeon?" jeongyeon asked, truly clueless about their obvious actions.

jihyo sighed, shaking her head. "sweetie, everyone knew. you two weren't exactly secretive."

"even when i dated nayeon, you two still were very very touchy-touchy," you said.

"man, i can't believe you're having a baby," chaeyoung said. "my best friend's gonna be a father, and my girlfriend's best friend is gonna be the mother, it's crazy."

tzuyu hums. "everything is going to change once we graduate. we might not even see each other ever again."

"ah, don't say that. it's sad to think about," nayeon pouts.

"well i only just met you guys, so the only one i care about is jihyo really."

they disregarded leo's statement.

you hadn't thought about how your friend group may come to an end. come to think of it, you were so worried about leaving korea, now taking care of your future family, that you haven't put a single thought into your friends and your relationship with them. what does the future hold for them?

"well, high school musical once said," jihyo says, sounding rather wise. "if relationships as well as friendships are meant to be, which i truly believe ours is, then no matter where life takes us, nothing can break us apart. you know it's true, i just wanna be with you...guys!"

jeongyeon booed. "loser! high school musical is overrated and camp rock remains to be superior."

dahyun gasped dramatically. "there you go again with your unwanted opinions. nayeon, cancel you girlfriend please."

nayeon smiled apologetically to jeongyeon who pouted.

the rest of the day was spent reminiscing on old times spent together, and talking about the future and what it holds.

jihyo may have said some pretty cheesy stuff, quoted directly from a disney movie, but it held some truth.

life takes many different directions. people take many different paths to get to where they want to be. the friends you make along the way either stick with you or not. if your bonds are meant to be, no matter the path you go, they will always stay by your side.

if you close your eyes, listening to the chatter of your friends, feeling tzuyu's hair tickle your cheek, and breathing in the summer air around you, you can see your future. a beautiful baby, a gorgeous soon to be wife (once you propose of course), and your friends all gathered around with smiles on their faces.

you couldn't be happier at how your life turned out.

i know i didn't give you a warning, and it may feel kind of rushed, but the ending actually feels perfect to me.

epilogue coming in next as well as maybe some bonus chapters (i don't know yet)
