Chapter 6: A Human's Perspective

River's POV

They're going to turn me human?! This thought keeps running through my head as I slowly walk towards Chris. I can see the love in his eyes and for the first time I can feel the mate bond. I can feel his emotions I can hear his thoughts. I can hear our hearts beating in sync. Like we where made for each other. He walks up to me and kisses my head. "Hello again my love. Soon I will be able to hear your beautiful voice." He says sweetly. I tilt my head back and release a howl to the moon goddess that is full of contentment and happiness. The whole pack joins in and when I look back at Chris he is next to a girl that has a white flowy dress in her arms and Chris has a necklace that has a silver chain (the type of silver in the necklace is not harmful to were's) and a royal blue diamond the size of a quarter. "Do you, my mate, accept me Chris as your mate and do you accept my offer to join my pack." He says hope glistening in his eyes. I nod my big wolf head and he leans down and places the necklace on me. It looks so pretty on my white fur. It freaks me out a little as it starts glowing. It gets brighter and brighter until the pack has to look away from the bright light. I yelp out in pain as my bones begin breaking, shifting and changing. My muzzle is shrinking down, my tail is gone, my legs are growing longer and my front legs are becoming arms. When my transformation is done I am a human. The girl puts the dress on me and Chris offers me his hand. He takes my small feminine hand in his hand and I stand on two legs. I stumble forward and he catches me. "Don't worry, I've got you." he whispers in my ear. I smile at him and he smiles back. "By the way, you're gorgeous. May I know your name? I have a feeling it's not the one my family gave you." I shake my head no and open my mouth and say, "my name is River." He smiles at the sound of my voice and I smile to. My voice is so pretty and delicate. Like wind chimes but not annoyingly high pitched. It's very feminine. "Well, River, do you accept me as your mate and my offer to join my pack?" "I do" as soon as the words leave my mouth I feel a rush of energy and emotion rush through me. I hear the voices of all the pack members in my head and I feel a love for all of them as their Luna. "Members of the Lunar Eclipse Pack, may I present your Luna, River!" everyone cheers and I can't help but break out in a huge smile. The little girl runs up and hugs me. I pick her up and spin her around. she hugs my neck and whispers, "I'm so glad you are our Luna and not Caitlyn." I put her down and smile trying not to look confused and she runs to play with the other kids. "That's Iris. She's a cute kid." Chris says with a smile. He takes my hand and leads me inside. After a few steps I have this human walking thing down pat and I really want to see what I look like. "Chris?" I ask "Yes River?" "Can I see what I look like?" "Of course you can!" he takes me to a bathroom and I look in the mirror. Right then I see a beautiful young woman. She has light golden hair that looks like it would shine like the sun out in natural light, a nice looking tan, and my eyes are beautiful. My right one is cobalt blue and the left one is chocolate brown. I smile and my teeth are so white! They are still razor sharp just like as they were in my wolf form and my blonde hair has streaks of white that matches my wolf form fur. "Wow." I say in awe. "I told you you're gorgeous." Chris says his voice laced with love and affection. "Thankyou, but why are my teeth still sharp?" "You're not human you're a wolf. Since your not a were either you're teeth and eyes will not change like ours do." He turns me around in his arms and I gets lost in his eyes. He leans down and kisses me. It's a sweet kiss. Not heated. That'll come later 'wink' 'wink'. We pull away and he hugs me close, I lay my head in his chest and breathe in his scent. "You wonna go on a run?" I ask I feel his chest rumble with laughter and he says "Sure." we pull away and run outside. When we get to the yard next to the woods I take off my necklace and hand it to him, instantly I am in my true form. I shake out my white fur and stretch my legs. When I turn around I see Chris in his wolf form. Wow. His wolf looks good! He has ebony black fur with jade green eyes. 'Your wolf is so handsome' I mind link him rubbing against him. 'Thankyou love, you are beautiful'. He licks my muzzle and we run off into the forest together. After running for a long time we come across a clearing and what I see is truly terrifying. Members of the Bloodstone pack. Three to be exact. 'River, who are they? They don't smell of were's.' Chris mind links me. I can tell he is uncomfortable. 'They are members of the bloodstone pack. They killed off my entire pack.' I feel my anger rising. 'Stay here Chris. They are wolves. They will kill you.' he looks like he is going to protest but decides against it. 'Stay hidden my love until I come for you.' I lick his muzzle and he crouches down into a log. When I look back up the wolves have spotted me. I walk out into the clearing and the wolves are growling ferociously. They come at me and I lunge for the attack. When the fight is done three wolves lay dead at my feet and I have a gash over my left eye, a bite in my side, my left front paw is probably broken and a piece of my right ear is ripped off. I limp over to where I left Chris and he comes over to me and shifts to a human. "Oh River. You need help." He says his voice full of worry. he gently picks me up and runs back to the house not jostling me at all. 'Chris?' I mind link him. 'Yes?' 'How'd I do?' he chuckles slightly and says 'You where amazing'. He takes me into the pack house and up to his room. Waiting there is what looks like the pack doctor. "Lay her down on the bed." He does as she says. After she's done my paw has a caste on it and my side and ear are bandaged with stitches and the gash over my eye has butterfly stitches. "how did this happen?" "We where on a run and we came across some other wolves and she took them out single handedly, but with a few casualties." He replies. "Well, since she's a wolf she will need to stay in this form until she is healed." She says and walks out. 'Chris?' I mind link him. 'Yes love?' he replies sitting next to me. 'Will you mark me?' he looks surprised but nods yes and leans down and elongates his canines and bites down on the spot between my neck and shoulder. He licks his mark and I dig e same to him. He then lays down next to me as drowsiness over takes me...
