Chapter 10: family reunion

i kept on going for those walks every day, to keep my mind off of Leo or the Runt or my moved out kittens. it worked, for the most part, those walkes really helped me, so every day i went out for a walk. around the neighborhoods. it was a beautiful summer day, the sun was hot on my orange fur. i loved my walks, there so relaxing.

i stopped on one of the neighboring farms and stopped by a small pond, and took a nice long drink. when i was done and satisfied, i studied my surroundings, a forest behind me, with birds chirping and insects buzzing, and frogs croaking. i looked in front of me, a farm with fields of growing hay, and a nice green pasture with horses grazing. there were about four horses, a paint horse, two brown horses, and an amber horse. This farm amazed me, somehow, and i wanted to explore it.

i was walking around it, studying it, seeing all of the animals on it. there were chickens, goats, and the horses. i explored some more, there was a huge hay- barn, it had greyish, brown wood walls and a pinkish red roof, the basement was made of tan cement. i decided to take a look inside. it was dark and cool inside the basement of this barn, away from the heat of the sun. i got up and walked around. there were stalls for horses, but no horses in them. there were six stalls, all wooden, except for the black metal bars to keep the horses in, and the black metal bar door. i kept looking around, there was a small tack room with saddles, bridels, helmets, horse brushes, and a bunch of other things, that were neatly put there (all horse equipment, for horseback riding). on the opposite side of the tack room, there was a feedroom, with a whole bunch of horse food and healthy stuff for horses.

then, just when i was about to depart back home, from my walk. i heard footsteps from upstairs in the hay barn part of the barn, it was too soft to be a human, and to loud to be a mouse. so, knowing my curious adventurous self, i went to go check it out.

i found some wooden stairs leading to upstairs. i climbed them, and when i got up, i saw the cat i thought i'd never see again....

Mittens and i watched as Aleah left, in the morning on the big yellow bus. she was with her big sister. and they went on the bus together. we watched until we could not hear or see the bus anymore. then we went to eat our breakfast that Aleah left out for us, it was leftover scrambled eggs that nobody wanted.

we were quiet as we ate, but when we finished, and cleaned ourselves, we talked a lot, ever since she told me what happened, she seemed more open, and talkative, and she even let Aleah pet her a few times without her flinching away. i had a feeling i reached out to her about not all humans being bad. "so, Mittens..." i said. "what is it Stripes?" she asked, looking at me. my heat skipped a beat when she said my name. i loved the way she said it. " do you want to go to the barn?" i said. "you read my mind... TAG! your it!" she said tapping my nose with her paw, then ran away, laughing. i chased after her. "your on!" i said.

she squeezed thru the small wooden door and disappeared on the other side. i went in after her. when i got to the other side, she was nowhere to be seen i searched the hay and went thru tunnels but i couldn't find her. "Mittens!" i called. "You Win!.. you can come out now!" i kept on yelling that i surrender and that she won. she still didn't come out. then i suddenly felt a heavy weight on my back, almost toppling me over. "ah!..Mittens.. you scared me!" i said , startled. Mittens jumped off my back, then said. "I win!" while jumping up and down, circling around me. then she abruptly stopped. and then she laid her ears flat against her head, and hissed. "what's wrong?" i asked, tilting my head to the side. but before she answered i saw a cat that looked exactly like me, but female.....

A Cliffhanger!

the first cliff hanger, in his entire book, what will happen between the mother and son that got separated so long ago, when stripes was just a kitten? who knows? will the mother reject him again, will she accept him in open paws? will Stripes be happy that he finally gets to meet his mother? what will happen? no one knows... All Except me. MU MU HAHAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!!
