9am- A couple of days ago- Violet's P.O.V
I got to my grandparents house about a couple of hours ago since my mom has to wake up early for work. I would've stayed at home, but I'd rather not be with my alcoholic dad. My mom won't be able to pick me up until late in the evening since she has to work 3 jobs, so I'll be with my grandparents for a while. My grandparents live in a cheap, but nice, condo. It has two bedrooms, a small kitchen that connects to the small living room and a bathroom. I stay in the second bedroom and watch TV for the majority of the time that I'm with my grandparents.
I hear someone knock on my door, "Violet, I made breakfast." I hear my grandmother say softly. "Coming." I turn the turn the TV off and head to the kitchen. When I step out of my room, I smell blueberry waffles, sausages, and cheesy scrambled eggs. My plate was on the table, ready to be devoured by me. I sit down at the table, grab my fork that was next to my plate, and take a big bite of my waffles. I eat in silence, watching my grandfather slowly make his way to the table. I frown, "I can go get your cane, grandpa." I tell him, quickly standing up. "No no, enjoy your food, my dear. I think I can make it to the table." I sigh, and sit back down. He said that last time and fell, then we had to take him to the hospital. I continue to eat, watching him carefully.
"Do you have any plans for today, Violet?" My grandma asks, sitting next to me. I shake my head, "No. I might do the usual, watch TV and eat snacks until mom picks me up."
My grandpa made it to table and sat down, sighing deeply. Thank God. "I think you should go out, and do something. You can even invite your friends over, we don't mind." My grandma says, I shake my head. "Nah, I'd rather stay inside." I tell her. I mean yeah, I'd rather stay inside, but I don't want people to know how low class my family is too. "You're such an introvert, just like your mother." My grandpa starts, "But you get your looks from your father." He adds, I give him a small smile, then I take a bite of my sausage. "How is your father doing by the way?" Both my grandparents ask in unison.
"He's still a drunk, nothing about him has changed. He just sits around all day drinking and watching TV. While mom works her ass off everyday to provide for us. He's a useless bitch." I say fiercely, causing my grandparents to frown. "Mom is working three jobs, and barely gets any money. So, I'll help her. Next month I'll get a job, at least I'm not going to sit around being useless, like my trash dad." I tell them, getting angry.
My hands were in fists, my knuckles turning white. I watch my grandma place her hand on top of mine, with a sad smile. "I'm sorry, dear. But you know you can always stay with us, right? You're our only grandchild, and we'll try our best to make you as happy as possible." My grandfather nods with a sad smile. "I know, thank you guys. I love you both." I get up and hug my grandpa first, he kisses my cheek. I then hug my grandma, she kisses my forehead. I feel tears well up, but I blink them away. "I love you more." They both say, I smile and grab my plate and wash it in the kitchen.
After I finish washing my dish, I run into my grandparent's room and grab my grandpa's cane. I know he said he doesn't need it, but I'm giving it to him just in case. I run back into the kitchen to see my grandpa still sitting at the table. "Here you go, you're going to need it." I say, handing him his cane. He smiles at me, "Thanks, sweetheart." He ruffles my hair, I whine and my grandpa chuckles. "I'm going back in my room, call me if you need me." I say loud enough for both my grandparents to here.
I enter my room and lay on the bed, cozily, then I turn the TV back on. I was watching TV for a while until I hear my phone ringing. I lazily extend my arm to the nightstand to grab my phone, once I do, I look at the caller ID. I roll my eyes, it's Minerva. I sigh deeply, answering the phone. "What do you want?" I ask, not in the mood to talk, especially to her. "We need to talk about Sophie. I think she's up to something, but I don't know exactly what."
"I really don't care what she's up to, she's the least of my worries right now."
"Are you sure about that?"
"Positive."
"What if it has something to do with Clementine and Louis?"
I sit up, curious now. "Tell me everything you know."
Minerva tells me about how Sophie was sad and upset about Clementine and Louis being a couple, since Sophie's had a crush on Louis for a long time, and ever since that conversation that they had, Sophie's been wanting to plan a party, which Minerva thinks is unusual.
"Why does her wanting to have a party be suspicious?"
"Because I think she's going to do something at the party!"
"Ohhh, well you're her sister, keep an eye on her!"
"I am, and I'll continue to. Could you keep an eye on her too?"
Violet laughs, "You're funny, but no." I end the call, sighing. Seconds later, my phone rings again. I read the caller ID again, it's Minerva. I ignore the call.
I don't exactly know what Sophie's planning, but if she's trying to mess with the two people I care about the most, she's going to have to deal with me.
A/N: I really liked writing in Violet's point of view, it was fun! This chapter is short, but good (I hope.)
Question of the day: Which are prettier, brown eyes or blue eyes?
My answer: 100% Blue eyes
