I've added a map of what the island would roughly look like. It's pretty big
———————————————————————————Samantha's POV:

"Ugh. Mom do you know where I put my phone?!" I yelled from my room. I was frantically shoving my clothes back into my drawers from where I had thrown them. I couldn't remember where I put my phone! I picked up my car keys and threw them onto my bed next to my backpack.

Stupid fucking phone. Where is it?

I tore my sheets off of my bed and finally found it, tangled in the comforter. I yelled to my Mom and Mother that I found it then rushed to put on my backpack and race down the hall. I was late! I hated being late.

I found both of them sitting at the table, eating. I quickly gave them each a side hug then bolted for the elevator.

"Hey! Aren't you going to say bye to your dear old Mommy" Mother called. Her dark brown hair was tied back in a messy ponytail and her pale skin seemed to gleam in the sunlight that came in from the window. I pressed the down button for the elevator then turned around.

"Sorry Mother I'm late for class! It's 8:45! I overslept then couldn't find my phone!" I explained hurriedly. I shot my two best friends Carmen and Megan a quick text just as the elevator doors opened. They both texted back immediately that they were waiting for me in the lobby. Both of my them laughed and waved goodbye as I jumped into the elevator and the doors closed behind me.

Shit. I'm never late! If only I had someone to wake me up everyday like they do. It's so unfair.

The elevator doors opened, revealing Megan and Carmen leaning against the wall. Carmen was holding the gold and black chain that was connected to her pet's collar in her right hand and was using her left to rapidly text. Megan was handing her pet 3 Starbucks coffees. When they both saw me they squealed and rushed over.

Megan Foster was the 17 year old daughter of the Famous Krystal Foster, Who happened to be my Mom Maya's best friend. We played together when we were younger. Her mothers Ellie and Krystal were pretty laid back. She shared Ellie's blue eyes and Krystal's dirty blonde hair. She always matched with her pet, who she got when she was 16. Her pet was an almost exact copy of her, but her eyes weren't as blue and she wasn't as tall. She always kept her gaze to the ground and didn't do anything unless Megan ordered her to.

Carmen King was the only one of us who didn't have two mothers. Not that it mattered. Her father was a wealthy businessman who threw himself into his work and ignored his now 18 year old daughter, opting to giving her access to his credit cards in exchange for his love. Her mother was a secretary at the building Maya and Krystal worked at, so in a way she was also stacked. She had strawberry blonde hair and tan skin with hazelnut eyes. She got her pet when she was only 15, a black haired girl with a curvy figure and pretty brown doe eyes. She loved dressing her up in flashy dresses and was known to skip class with her so she could play around with her in the school bathrooms.

"Hey sleepyhead! We thought we were going to have to leave you!" Carmen said. She yanked her pet forward, who handed me one of the cups and bowing her head. She handed the other two to Carmen and Megan and we all in union took a sip. It tasted wonderful.

"Well let's get to school before the teachers threaten to expel us again" Megan said. We all laughed, but walked outside and piled into the limo. Carmen's pet knelt down as she sat on the Heated Leather seats, while Megan's sat down next to her.

The drive wasn't very long, our school was only a three blocks away. When the limo pulled to a stop in front of the entrance we all piled out and hurried up the stairs as fast as our heels would allow. Megan split off to her Fashion Design class, while Carmen followed me to English. Carmen's pet opened the door and we hurried in. The teacher, Mrs Sawyer, shot us both a glare. Which I returned at full force.

It's not like she could do anything to us without getting sued or losing her job. Being the daughter of the CEO has its perks.

We sat down at a table together, while Carmen's pet took the floor by her owner's feet. Carmen and me chatted for a little while before the Teacher came up to the table, handing us both a worksheet. As soon as I saw the word Project I knew it would be annoying.

Every month we got a project in Math, Social Studies, Science, and English that was due at the end of the week. I hated doing projects. They took too much time out of my day and I barely ever did well on them. I usually end up paying the nerds to do them for me but Mother had caught on and made me stop.

She even called me a brat and grounded me! And Mom did nothing but give me back my laptop.

"Easy. Hey Sammy wanna swing by my house and we'll work on it together?" She asked. I nodded.

"I'll come at 5:30pm. Gotta do stuff" I replied. She laughed.

"Like what? Beg and plead with your parents in hopes of them getting you your precious pet?" She said. I playfully shoved her.

The class bell rang after a couple minutes of us discussing makeup. We stood up and moved into the crowded hallway to get to our next classes. I had Gym, while Carmen had Social Studies. We parted ways and I made my way down to the gym.

"Miss Samantha Redd! Are you actually going to participate today? Or threaten me to give you another A?" The gym teacher yelled as soon as I entered the gym and he caught sight of me. I smiled and kept eye contact with him as I took a seat on the bleachers. He rolled his eyes and reached for his clipboard.

Mother had always argued that I had to be like all the other kids and couldn't use having them as parents as leverage to not do things. Mom made it clear she didn't care, as long as I did my schoolwork and had okay grades. Mother had long since stopped having that argument with me, probably due to the fact that it got her nowhere.

I decided to pull out my sketchbook and draw for the remainder of the period. The other students streamed in and started for the locker rooms. Some glanced my way, but none came up to talk to me. I ignored them and tapped my pencil on the side of my sketchbook as I thought of what to draw. My thoughts kept drifting back to my Mother.

She's always been so, good? I don't know. Me and Mother always butted heads over everything. She's so strict! Neither Megan or Carmen's parents are as strict as her! I guess it's good that Mom barely agrees with her.

I stood up and grabbed my backpack, walking down the steps of the bleachers and towards the gym doors.

I'll skip school today. Too boring.

(Time Skip)

Sky's POV:

Miss Redd? Your Daughter Samantha Redd didn't appear at her afternoon classes. We assume she skipped them. We will mark her schedule as Cuts. Thank You, have a nice day

Maya ended the call and let out a laugh. She stopped when she saw me standing with my arms crossed.

"What? What's wrong?" She asked. I shot her a glare.

"She can't keep skipping school just because she doesn't want to go" I snapped. Maya sighed and stood up from the couch, walking over to me.

"Relax. It was one day. She'll just go on Monday. It's only Friday Sky." She said. I rolled my eyes.

"She's done this more times than I can count! It's not right! Next she'll come to you pleading for you to homeschool her!" I yelled. Maya raised an eyebrow and stepped closer.

"Don't. Yell at me." She ordered. I instinctively dropped my gaze to the floor. She lifted my chin and made me look at her.

"Relax. She'll be fine. A few days out of school wont kill her future" She assured me. I nodded and Maya moved away.

She's raised her to be bratty and manipulative. And I don't know how to fix it.

I got up and moved to the kitchen, deciding to bake instead of sitting in my room all day.

I wish I could take it all back. All of it.
