Samantha's POV:

"Guys! Please!" I begged. Both of my parents were sitting at the kitchen island. Mother looked uncomfortable.

"Samantha we talked about this...You don't need one" She said quietly, rubbing her forehead. I stomped my foot then looked at Mom with begging eyes.

Please give in please give in.

"But all my friends have one!" I whined. Mother slammed her hands onto the counter and stood up.

"We. Said. No. DROP IT!" She snarled. I was taken aback. Mother never yelled, it was mostly Mom that did that. She pushed her chair back and stomped out of the room, slamming the door to their room. I looked at Mom, who had an annoyed look on her face.

"Samantha. I know Megan and Carmen have one but that doesn't mean you need one. We'll get you a dog or even a cat if you want" She suggested, running a hand through her hair. I pouted. This was so unfair!

"Megan's Parents got HER one when she was only 16! I'm 19! I'll be responsible I promise" I tried. She raised an eyebrow.

"Fine. You can have one" She said. I squealed in happiness, already imagining which one I'd get.

"Yay! Thanks M-"

"If you pay the two hundred thousand dollars or so yourself. If you bought something on your own I can't stop you from having it" She cut me off with a smirk. My heart dropped.

There's no way I'd get that much money!

"B..but I don't have that kind of money!" I protested. Mom let out a laugh.

"You know your Mother doesn't like you begging for pets" She warned. "Your 20th birthday is in a month, why don't you beg her for a new car or something". And with that she got up from her chair and left the kitchen to tend to her pissed off other.

I groaned and picked up my phone, shooting a text to Carmen to ask if I could hang out over there. She answered quickly, inviting me over. She lived in a Penthouse a block south and Megan lived in a Penthouse a block north. I snatched up my car keys and walked towards the elevator.

How am I gonna get $200,000+ dollars

Sky's POV:

I let out a deep breath as soon as I heard the door open. Refusing to turn around, I instead remained by my spot at the window and looked down to the street below.

"Mind telling me what that was Pet?" I heard her say. I rolled my eyes, playing with my necklace. I heard her move closer before her arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me against her.

"You've never yelled at her before. What's wrong?" She asked, kissing my neck. I let out a whine, but didn't push her off.

"S..She annoyed me..I don't want her to get a pet. She's gonna guilt trip you into getting her one" I protested. Maya laughed.

"Well, I did raise a very manipulative daughter" She mused. She sounded so proud. It made me angry.

"She's a brat sometimes. And you let her get away with it" I snapped. Maya sighed and went to sit on the bed.

"I don't see a problem with it. When I was younger I was exactly the same. Annoyed the shit out of my Mother with it" She said with a chuckle. I spun around and shot her a glare.

"I don't want her growing up like you!"

The room got silent. Maya raised an eyebrow at me, then stood up.

"Look Pet. I know you're pissed off but watch it. I can and still will punish you" She growled. For once I ignored her.

"I hate you! You trapped me here, made me have a baby! I barely get a say in anything! It's almost as if I wasn't the one who carried her for 9 months!" I screamed. I felt tears running down my face and I turned away. Maya sighed.

"4 and a half months. And I didn't trap you here" She said calmly. I wanted to smack her.

"Yeah. Keeping a collar around my neck and threatening me with the beating of a lifetime if I tried to leave isn't trapping me" I snapped back. She grabbed my wrist and yanked me over to her.

"Enough. When you're done being a child come talk to me. Until then, you can either stay in here until I tell you you can come out or I beat you. Your choice Pet" She snarled. She let go and I sat down on the bed, rubbing my wrist where she gripped me too tight. Without another word she turned on her heel and left, slamming the door behind her. I glared at the door before curling up into a pillow.

Why did this have to happen to me?

Samantha's POV:

"Wow really? I can't believe her!"

Me and Carmen were sitting on her bed with our projects lying between us. Carmen's Pet was already in the process of cutting out pictures of the Renaissance for them, her eyes staying on the floor.

"She's really making you pay for one? That's cruel. I could lend you some money" Carmen offered. I perked up when I heard that.

"Really?" I asked. She nodded and I smiled.

She never specified how I had to get the money

"$200,000 right? I'm sure I can get my dear old dad to sign a check for it. Then you'll be free to get any pet you wish!" She replied. I smiled eagerly and she pulled out her checkbook to begin writing it. I was ecstatic.

Why didn't I think of coming to her sooner?!

She finished and held it out to her pet, who took it and hurried out of the room to get it signed. That left us alone for a bit.

"Honestly it's the best. Anything you don't want to do you can just send your pet to do it. The dresses aren't very expensive either! I ordered like 15 last week. Solid colors. She doesn't need many special ones. Gotta remember to feed them obviously, some are too obedient to even mention they're hungry. My pet sleeps on the floor but if you want yours to share your bed with you that's your call" She rambled on. Her pet returned with the check signed and handed it to me, dipping her head. I gently took it and stood up, glancing at the large wall clock. It read 7:42pm.

"Well, I gotta go. Hopefully Mom is home so I can show her the money" I said. Carmen giggled and gave me a hug before instructing her pet to walk me to the elevator. I gathered my things and put my project away as followed her almost silent steps. She pressed the button to open the doors for me and bid me farewell on behalf of her Mistress before disappearing back down the hallway.

Can't wait to get home!

(Time Skip)

When i got home, the first thing I noticed was Mom at the kitchen island flipping through paperwork and Mother nowhere to be seen. She looked up when she heard the elevator doors open and raised an eyebrow at the envelope in my hand.

"What's that?" She asked suspiciously, letting go of the page. I smiled and walked up to her, handing her the envelope. She opened it and sighed.

"You can't get money from your friends Samantha" She said. I pouted.

"But you never specified where I had to get the money from! That's not fair!" I said loudly. She let out a bigger sigh.

"Samantha. Your mother really doesn't want you getting a pet. She's gonna be angry" She said with a smile. I caught on and smiled too. I had won.

"Alright fine. We'll go now while she's asleep. Should be back before midnight. Let's go we'll take my car" She said. I eagerly snatched up her keys and handed them to her while placing mine on the table. She left the check on the table and went to go put on a coat.

Yes! Finally! I'm gonna get a pet!
