Samantha's POV:
We pulled up to the large grey warehouse building. I was out of the car and walking towards the door before Mom even had a chance to turn it off. Flinging open the door, I was surprised to see countless rows of jail like cells. Peering into a few I was disappointed to see some of them were sleeping. I began to walk down the rows, growing more and more frustrated that none were catching my eye. They all looked the same, beaten down, meek, and obedient.
I arrived at the last row and was about to turn on my heel and stomp back to Mom before something caught my eye. The last cell on the left. I approached it slowly and caught sight of red hair sticking from under the heavy blanket they were all given. I frowned and kicked the cage, startling whoever it was.
"Do you mind? I'm trying to sleep!"
Two very angry and very blue eyes popped from beneath the blanket and glared at me. It was a girl. She had long red hair and icy blue eyes, similar to Megan's but more vibrant. She sat up, revealing the black dress all the females had to wear. I smiled.
"What's your name?" I asked. Her glare didn't soften, instead she seemed to glare harder.
"It's fuck you" She snapped. The owner appeared, with Mom in tow from around the corner. He stopped in front of me.
"Have you found one to your liking?" He asked. I nodded and pointed at the red haired girl. He frowned.
"Well, Erika here is new. She got shipped here two days ago and hasn't been bought by anyone. Have you had a pet before?" He said. I shook my head and his frown deepened.
Erika. So that's her name.
"What's wrong with her? Seems fine to me" I mused. Mom snorted from behind the owner.
"She's not very, tamed? Yes tamed, yet. Maybe you should look for another choice" He offered. I shook my head again.
"No! I want her!" I demanded, stomping my foot for emphasis. This time Erika let out a snort.
"Oh great. A bratty rich teenager wants to buy me. Should I come with a free puppy too" She said sarcastically. The owner gave her a glare that she didn't hesitate to return.
"How much?" I asked. The owner looked from me, then Erika, then Mom, then back at me before sighing.
"$490,000. Renting or Buying?" The Renting fee is $120,000 a week and-"
"We'll take her" Mom cut in, waving off his words. The owner nodded and went to his office to get a something. He returned with a black leather collar, a black leash, and a set of keys. He opened Erika's cage door and she immediately pressed herself against the wall. He went to work removing the heavy collar from around her neck that would prevent her from running out of the cell if anyone opened it, then the cuffs that I didn't even notice she was wearing.
When he finished he put the black collar on and secured the leash before using it to pull her to her feet and out of the cell. He reached out to hand it to Mom, then hesitated and held the end out to me. I took it and felt excitement zap through me. Mom started asking him multiple questions before she went off with him to pay. I decided to wait in the car and gave Erika's leash a yank to get her to follow, nearly pulling her off her feet.
"Hey! Watch it brat. You don't have to pull so hard" She grumbled. I whipped around and glared at her, hoping she'd drop her gaze and look at the floor like Carmen's pet did. Instead she met my gaze with a raised eyebrow, daring me to do something.
"Follow and do what I say and I won't have to pull so hard" I snapped back. She rolled her eyes. I turned away and started walking towards the door again, preparing to give her another yank. I smiled a little when I heard the click of her heels behind me, following. Mom returned with a remote and the receipt, which she just put in her purse. She handed me the remote.
"For punishments and such. I'll show you how to set up the new collar to your phone when we get it" She explained. I nodded and we all walked outside. I had a little bounce in my step, relishing the fact that I had gotten what I wanted. Erika wordlessly sat in the backseat while I sat up from with Mom. Just as she started the car, her phone rang. I glanced down as the Caller ID flashed "Sky", then looked at Mom. She chuckled.
"Your mother is just worried. No doubt she'll be pissed" She said. I giggled alongside her.
"So where to now?" I asked. She glanced back at Erika then put the car in drive.
"The mall. Gotta get a couple collars and leashes for your new pet and some other dresses and shoes besides the ones she's wearing" She replied. I nodded.

When we arrived at the mall, Mom directed me and Erika to a store specifically for pets. She told me to text her when I was done and we would meet at the food court. She then went off to do her own shopping. I pulled Erika into the store and began browsing the different collars.
"Which ones do you like?" I asked her. She looked at the shelf then snorted again.
"None of them. And definitely not the one around my neck" She replied. I rolled my eyes.
"Just pick like 3. Then I'll just get another leash and we can go clothes shopping" I said. She let out a dramatic sigh and reached out to the shelf, picking up a purple collar, a red and white collar, and a blue collar and placing them in the basket I had. Satisfied, I turned to the other shelf and picked up another black leash, which was thicker and more durable than the one I was leading Erika with. While paying, I noticed she was staring at a shelf of the high quality collars. She picked up a cheetah print one and held it out to me with the matching leash.
"I thought you didn't like any of them" I teased as I took them. She blushed and bit her lip, choosing to stare at the wall instead of looking at me.
"Well. I liked the look of that one. And you're a rich brat so you've got Daddy's money to spend" She said sharply. I shook my head and laughed as I looked at the price tag.
"This one is $400,000. Nearly as much as you. Tons of high tech features and other shit too." I said. Erika's eyes widened. I paid for it and grabbed the bag, walking out of the store with her in tow. I texted Mom asking her where we should go next then texted her a picture of the cheetah print collar. She replied with a few store names and then said she'd show me how it worked when we met up. I started with the first clothing store. It had an area perfectly secluded for pets in the back, plus a sitting area. I glanced around to make sure no one was there then I turned to Erika.
"If I take off the leash you have to go and pick out at least 10 different dresses. Maybe more I don't know. The shoes we'll go to another store for" I said. Erika perked up at that and nodded. I held the remote to hopefully remind her not to run, then took the leash off and sat down on the couch by the door. She hesitated for a second, then reached out and tediously picked up a baby blue dress, which matched her eyes. She held it in front of herself in the mirror and smiled, triumphantly stomping over to me and throwing the dress on my lap.
"One down. Nine to go" She grumbled to herself as she disappeared into the rows of racks.

Erika placed the 17th dress she had found, a red v-neck dress, into my lap. The pile was threatening to teeter if I stood so I called an employee to help. When she moved the last pile of clothes from my legs, I was shocked to see Erika gone. I looked around wildly, but she was nowhere to be found. I rushed out of the back room already dialing Mom, then I spotted her looking at a couple t-shirts. The fear that had been running through my like lightning was gone and was replaced with anger. I rushed over and grabbed her collar, dragging her with me to the register. She yelped, choking a couple times when she tried to resist. I didn't let go until we arrived at the register and I had clipped her leash back on. She glared at me then moved her collar to the side in the mirror to check her neck.
"Bitch" I heard her mumble. I had to restrain myself from slapping her. Instead I decided to try out the new remote and gave her a level 2 shock. She jumped and let out a small cry. The cashier told me the final amount, which was way over $2000 might I add, and I whipped out my credit card once again to pay. Handing the two large bags to Erika, which she surprisingly took without a word, I turned on my heel and walked out of the store. Her heels clicked behind me as she hurried to keep pace with me.
"Now" I said, making her glance my way. "Shoes"
