Samantha's POV:

It was nearing the end of the three days and Mother was slowly sinking back into her weird mood of staring out the windows. She stayed in her room longer and made a huge effort to avoid Mom. I assumed they were fighting over something. Erika wasn't very happy at not being able to explore the house, while Jasmin didn't mind. An order was an order after all.

I was in the process of packing the bags when I heard it. The scream. I quickly dropped what I was doing and rushed downstairs, leaving Erika and Jasmine upstairs packing. Mother's Mom (Grandma?) was glaring down Mom.

"You will NOT take my daughter! She can choose if she wants to stay or not! She yelled. Sky looked uncomfortable. Mom looked annoyed.

"Listen woman I don't care. She's coming with me. Ask her, she'll come" She said. I went over to Mother and gently grabbed her wrist to lead her upstairs. She looked so empty.

"Mother are you okay?" I asked. She bit her lip and nodded.

"Yes. Let's just pack. Your Mom will be fine" She replied. I led her over to the guest room, then stopped. Erika wasn't in the room and Jasmine was still folding clothes.

"Jasmine where's Erika?" I asked. Mother sat down on the bed. Jasmine frowned.

"She went to get you..Mistress Samantha" She replied. I gave her a confused look.

"Get me? For what? I never told her to follow me" I said. Sky's eyes widened.

"Shit. MAYA!"

Mom was upstairs in seconds. Mother quickly told her the rundown and I grabbed my phone to see where her tracker was saying she was.

"She's in the kitchen!" I called out, tossing my phone to Mom. We rushed downstairs to the kitchen, past a very angry and very confused Grandmother and Grandfather. She wasn't there. Mom frowned and looked at the phone again.

"It says she's in he-" She stepped on something then. Bending down, she picked it up and held it up to show us what it was. A knife. The blade was stained with blood.

"Sky take care of your parents. Samantha come with me. Jasmine stay with her" She ordered. Sky and Jasmine reluctantly herded her parents into the living room, leaving me and Mom alone.

"Bloody knife. But where could she hide in here?" She asked out loud. I looked around, then spotted something behind a wooden bowl on the counter. I moved it to the side and picked it up. It was her collar. That explained the knife. I held it up to Mom to show her. She frowned.

"She must of forced the knife between her skin and the collar and pried it off, cutting herself in the process.  The bracelets must be off too because it's showing that she isn't moving" She said, showing me the phone. I found them next to the garbage can.

"Mom! She got away! She doesn't have a collar on or anything how are you gonna find her?" I yelled. Her frown deepened.

"Pack everything up. Fast. We're leaving. We have to get back to the island" She said. I rushed after her out of the kitchen.

(Time Skip)

Running through the woods in 5 inch heels is much harder than you think. I knew I had little time before they found the collar and the bracelets and come looking for me. My neck stung from where I had cut it with the knife, but hey, it worked. I wasn't complaining.

Now to find a police station. All I know is that we're in Utah. But where?

I really hoped these woods would end soon. I didn't want to sleep in a bed of dirt and bugs. I was starting to lose hope, then I found a road. I stayed along the side and waited until a car came around the corner and turned down this street. I leapt up and waved my arms, hoping they would slow down. And they did.
