Lucifer stared at Michael in shock. He didn't know what to do. He had seen Michael's chest, if only for a second, but there had been burn marks and scars all over him. He had tried to get a better look but Michael had slipped on his shirt before he could get a closer look.

"Michael... where'd you get those burn marks?"

Michael froze.

"I-I don't know what you mean." Lucifer looked at Michael, maybe he had imagined it, or seen something different.

"Nothing. Forget it." Lucifer shrugged it off, but he couldn't shake how tense Michael looked when he asked. Had Michael been hurt? "So you think the bunny ones? I'll have you know the pastel pink really brings out my eyes." Michael smiled lightly, looking relieved. "Also, what do you like on your pizza? Dad said that he'd be ordering pepperoni and Hawaiian but I said that we should hold a vote."

"I think you should stick with those two," Michael said, his voice slightly shaky. "But you should order a vegetarian for Sam. He prefers to eat the more "healthier" option."

"I had no idea your brother was soulless," Lucifer chuckled, but he felt like something between them had shifted.

----

"So what's your birthmark?" Gabriel asked, bouncing onto his bed and lying upside down. He and Sam had finished getting changed but decided to stay in the room while they waited for everyone else. Kevin had gone out to find Lucifer and ask about dinner.

Sam looked nervous at the question, which confused Gabriel. Birthmarks weren't that big of a deal. They were just a little black mark above your chest in the shape of something that represented your soulmate. When you kissed your "destined," your mark burned as if you were being branded. It symbolised your soulmates burning themselves into your heart and leaving their mark.

"I'll show you mine first if that makes you more comfortable," Gabriel suggested. He sat up and unbuttoned the first few buttons of his pyjamas, revealing a small black birthmark about the size of a fifty-cent coin. "It's a moose's hoof print. I looked it up ages ago but have no idea how it represents my soulmate. Maybe they're really tall, like you." He fixed his shirt and fell back down onto the bed. "Your turn, Sammantha."

He looked uncomfortable but pulled his collar down anyway. It was a sweet, like the ones you unwrap by pulling either side. It was cute. Gabriel smiled.

"I like it. I reckon that means they like sugar," Gabriel said. Sam gave a smile as well. Gabriel liked Sam's smile. It was adorable. And when he was really happy, Sam's smile could rival the sun.

"Let's go guys! We're starting the movie soon!" Charlie yelled from downstairs.

"Alrighty," Gabriel hopped up. "Let's go. I saw the snacks that Charlie brought, I'm probably going to go into a food coma when this is all over. This is going to be so much fun."

"Sam, Gabriel," Charlie said as they walked into the living room. "Since you are the last to arrive, you get to make the popcorn." She handed them the bag of popcorn kernels and pushed them out.

"Well this sucks." Gabriel sighed as he poured the kernels into the popcorn maker. "Why couldn't she have just gotten normal microwave popcorn? That would be so much easier." Sam ignored his complaints and got the butter ready, putting the bowl into the microwave. "I like to eat popcorn, not make it."

There was silence between them as Gabriel watched the popcorn start to pop. The microwave beeped and Sam opened the door, reaching for the hot bowl.

"Oh, be careful--"

"Gah! Crap crap crap crap crap." Sam shook his burnt fingers. "Damnit. Crap crap!" Gabriel stood there in shock.

"It speaks!" He exclaimed after a pause.
