Adriana watched as Mackenzie, her cousin gushed about her former boyfriend ashton. she knew him through some friends, and summer camp but didn't care much since she dreadfully had more important things to focus on. adri, deadpans as mackenzie tosses a black long sleeve detailed with white and yellow in her direction. when adri came here, she didn't really expect mackenzie to be so perky. it's only been a year since her older sisters death, and she was sent here to help Mackenzie get her minds off things. but it seemed like she was fine somehow?

Adriana looked back and forth as Mackenzie tossed clothes in every direction. "god, what are you gonna wear?!" she shrieked. Adriana groaned, slumping back into the bed. "here, wear this." kenzie tossed a black-cropped t-shirt at her older cousin, and some ripped jeans— she knew adriana wasn't comfortable in anything new, let alone huge crowds; which is what they were going to be around the whole night.

Kenzie strolled proudly, and confidently through the crowd of intoxicated and hormonal peers, adriana following shortly behind. the beaming lights from the ceiling, and decorative lighting flushed adriana's sight, making the next few seconds hell. she short brunette stumbled behind mackenzie, letting out a few wince's as she bumped into the sweaty, drunk teens. her body thumped; slamming into a wall, except walls don't move. the 'wall' made a grunting sound, which caused her to jump from out of her skin, and with that. mackenzie was no where in sight. adriana didn't even focus on the tall, slender boy before her who stared down— in complete awe.

joey rapidly blinked as he watched the shorter petite girl frantically look around the living room of the frat house they were in. joey, of course didn't want to drink. but this was the first party he had been to since maddies you-know-what. he didn't move an inch. he peered down casually at the brown eyes from which were full of panic, soon coming up to face him. his hardened, most likely dark features from the dim lighting had adriana jumping out of her skin— she didn't know what the fuck to do. so, she pushed past him and ran. where? no clue. she ran until she found herself outside, the air behind her crashing into her skin. a sigh of relief could be heard when she sighted her cousin with a red solo cup in hand, taking occasional sips while talking to boys. adri didn't mind, she just pondered on how mackenzie did it. genuinely when you actually think about it, talking to boys is hard wether you like it or not. but maybe that's just your mind speaking, maybe it's just like speaking to anyone else.

taking her eyes off of her cousin, and shifting them to an empty bonfire sight in the backyard the brunette trudged her way over. her body plopped down into a seat, finding a six pack of wine coolers by her side. it couldn't hurt, just wine coolers. plus they were watermelon. adrianna flipped the cap off skillfully, and took a swig of her first bottle, enjoying the crisp feeling down her throat and into her stomach. the wine cooler being the first thing she's eaten since this morning. it was almost eleven. a group of boys came stumbling out from the back porch in the direction of adri, she wasn't too panicked about it. she was intoxicated already. very light drinker, since she didn't drink much. she downed the rest of the bottle, placing it at her side into the grass as the boys approached her. totally oblivious, she popped the cap off and started on her second bottle.

"hey." a rasp came from one of the boy ahead. adri snapped her eyes up, lips not leaving the bottle. she soon slowly set it down. "hi?" she murmured. the boys all took seats, staring at her but not in a crude way. ah, yes. finally some college boys that are sane. "what brings you here?" one blonde boy asked, adri shrugged in response. "my cousin." she replied bluntly, giving a lazy point to mackenzie who gleamed with pride as she was being taken upstairs by johnny orlando. "isn't that maddies sister?" another boy spoke this time. adri nodded, taking another swig. "uh huh." the boys exchanged looks before more words came spilling out. "oh, i'm tayler by the way." a taller blonde spoke. his hand lingered infront of adri, she shook it politely. "i'm adri." she slurred only bitterly. "i'm bryce." one said. "i'm dev."
"i'm tana." she finally noticed the blonde, not to mention the intimidating vibe she threw off. "oh my god you're so pretty." adri hiccuped, giggling soon afterwards. "you too." tana laughed, her obnoxious but contagious laugh filling into everyone's ears.

the rest of the night was filled with laughter, shared with the group. up until they all heard chanting and yelling from the front of he frat house. the group ushered each other quickly to the front— pushing through the crowd to see zach clayton and joey birlem slamming their fists into each other. adri watched in utter horror as joey took his arm, and slung it around zach's throat. zach's limp body lazily tried to get out of the grip. oh my god, joey was choking him to death. adri, sadly was the only person to notice. she acted quickly to tug the back of joeys shirt into her direction, his back slamming into her chest. a few 'what the fucks' and 'oh no's' could be heard. joey turned around, his eyes clearly full of anger. but once his eyes shot down to adri, they softened a bit.

adri stared up wide eyed at his defined features, waiting for his next move. "oh my god, ADRIANNA!" mackenzie's piercing yell shocked through adri's ears and she tugged her older cousin away. joey watched as the two kept eye contact. adri's new friends followed shortly behind her, the crowd had gotten bored from the scene and zach clayton had run home to his mommy. "adri do you know who that was?" tana sneered, helping her new friend into mackenzies car. "no." she slurred, closing her eyes and groaning. tana glanced back, seeing joey still standing there.

"oh boy he might kill you." could be heard from her fake lips, still lips tho.
