On the deserted road: 15th July Friday: 10:40 am:
Two jeeps were rushing on the road like a flower breaking wind. Although Aryamaan was careful about Nandini's comfort and was trying hard to balance between speed and time, Manik was in his true wild self. The banter that took place some time back and the fuel issue made him quite annoyed and the accelerator had to bear his pique. After some time it seemed quite difficult for Aryamaan to match up with Manik's speed. Gradually his jeep was fading from Aryamaan sight. Nandini was observing Aryamaan's dilemma and said,
"Aryamaan, call Manik and tell him to wait for us. It's only 10:45. What is the need to be so reckless? We are almost near to the petrol pump. Does he want to create another problem for us? The speed he is driving at, I am sure he is going to ram someone."
She sounded irritated. Aryamaan was going to say something but Cabir interrupted him and said,
" Nandini, you better know that Manik doesn't listen to anybody except you. So won't it be better that you call him and say whatever you want? I am sure he can't defy you."
Nandini glanced at Cabir and bent down her head. She knew very well that if she calls him right now the situation would be more complicated. It would be like adding fuel to fire. On the other hand, she was hell worried about Manik and others' safety. In this quandary, she mumbled,
"Why are you so stubborn?"
"Because he is The Manik Malhotra. Sometimes stubbornness takes advice from him. Ha..ha..ha."
Cabir lightly laughed and said but immediately stopped to get a nudge from Navya's elbow. She rolled her eyes at him and asked him to stop as she noticed Nandini's discomfort and anxiety.
"Cabir, can you be serious for a god damn moment? It's not funny. Manik is really doing wrong. And Nandini is not going to call him instead you will call him and ask to slow down his speed."
Navya said sternly.
"Yeah Cabir, call him. Tell him that we are coming, so wait for us."
Aryamaan suggested.
"Okay as you wish."
Cabir said and immediately tapped the keypad button.
