My alarm went off, that's when I knew it was time to go back to school. Six weeks went so fast and now we are back for another school year. At least I was finally in year 11. I never thought I'd make it this far! Schools still completely rubbish but I guess that's all a part of life, not being able to do what you want when you want. Each year always started and ended the same, with me meeting someone new and having them move or leave me for the 'next best thing'. I was so used to this by now. That's one of the main reasons I hated school.

As I got in the shower, I could hear my younger brother, Caleb, singing in his room. I knew that I would make fun of him for singing Britney spears later. I walked over to my mirror, trying to tell myself just one last year, that's all it takes... I grabbed my school uniform and put it on. Making sure my tie fitted nicely between my collar. I grabbed my brush and brushed through the knots of my tangled blonde hair. A dash of make-up for my imperfections. 'Layla! Breakfast is ready!" I heard as I stepped out of the steamy bathroom. I rushed down the stairs and grabbed a piece of toast as I packed my bag with all new stationary and books. "Wow, my little girl is all grown up!" She said as a tear dropped down her face. I knew how much this meant for her. I walked over and gave her a hug "Not so little anymore.," I whispered before pulling away to pack the rest of my bag. I grabbed my coffee from the side in a take away cup as well and my keys. "Bye!" I called through the house as I stepped out of the door.

As I got into school everyone just stopped and stared. I was scared, maybe a zit had appeared on my cheek, or maybe I had toothpaste all over my mouth. To my surprise Dillon, the most popular guy in school, walked over with a grin "Hey Layla, You've... changed?" I didn't have any words. I just nodded as I walked through the crowds of people staring. Maybe this could actually be my year!

My favourite subject was first, English. I walked over to my seat and stared out of the window. "Layla!" I hear coming from across the classroom. I turned my head to see Bailey, My only best friend. He ran over and jumped into the seat next to me. We started to talk about how our summers were because Bailey went to Thailand all summer. You could clearly tell he went on holiday, he had an extreme tan. The whole room went silent, I looked around to see why, To my surprise there was a new guy but not in uniform, he looked way too young to be a teacher. I'm pretty sure every girl was already going crazy for him. He wore tight blue ripped jeans and a black leather jacket, his brown luxurious hair flipped and curled to the left side surrounding his ear. "Alright class!" he said as he walked over to the board and picked up a pen "My name is Mr. Cohen." He wrote his name onto the board. He was a teacher! Bailey nudged me and mouthed "You have a crush don't you!" I shook my head, I cant crush on my own teacher! The lesson seemed to go so fast, I was so happy that I had English all week for two reasons now. The rest of the day went on and I kept seeing him all day.

At lunch Bailey had trombone practice and had to go to the music room, so I sat alone at lunch. "Hey Layla, are you ok?" An unfamiliar voice said. I looked up from my book, Harry Potter, to see Mr Cohen stood there. I choked on my piece of apple, out of everyone he noticed me. "Layla?" He said again. I had forgotten he asked me a question. "Yes sir, my friend Bailey has trombone practice so I have no one to sit next to." Mr Cohen pulled one of the chairs out from the table. "Mind if I join you?" I nodded, I could do with some company.

We sat there all lunch talking about my book. Who knew Mr Cohen was such a Harry Potter fan! The bell rung, again when I was with him it was like all time disappeared. I had Math next. I wasn't very good at Math. The day seemed so long after that as I didn't see Bailey for the rest of the day.
