Chapter 9
Jake was startled by Alex. He was so used to living alone it felt weird, having someone else stay at with him…sharing his things.
Alex hopped down the stairs and into the kitchen, where Jake was eating some bacon and eggs. Summer had taught him how to cook. And being the nice brother he was, he had made some for Alex too. Oh, plus some aromatic coffee too.
“Morning,” Jake greeted casually.
“Morning,” Alex piped back.
“Those are for you,” He eyed the other plate of bacon and eggs. Alex brightened.
“Oh thanks, man,” Alex grinned. They sat opposite each other as they ate their breakfasts, “So, had a great time last night?”
Jake looked up. He couldn’t help but crack a smile at the thought of his date with Summer last night at that little café. “Yeah,” Jake smiled, “It was awesome.”
“She seems nice,” Alex commented, remembering Summer. Well how could someone forget a girl as beautiful as Summer? Alex’s memory of her was still fresh in his mind.
“She is,” Jake chuckled. “I don’t think I’ve met anyone as interesting and funny as she is,”
“Well you’re one lucky man, then,” Alex cheered.
“I guess I am,” Jake sighed happily.
Alex looked as his brother, well, half-brother, who was supposed to be a player. He seemed to be totally whipped. Alex smiled internally. This was his chance. Summer meant a lot to Jake. What if he took her away?
Alex thought of his mother, laying there dying in the hospital. His heart clenched. He was going to lose her forever. Robert Dawson was no more a father to Alex than he was to Jake. Robert was their financial support but wasn’t their fatherly figure. And Jake was going to be the heir of the company. What of him then? What will happen to him once Jake has Summer and the company? He was going to be completely forgotten; abandoned. The thought of it angered Alex. He was still legally Robert’s son!
But if he had Summer? If he had Summer, he could crush Jake’s heart. And Jake will be so heartbroken he won’t want the company anymore; which means the next in line was him. He could have it all.
Alex mentally smirked. Summer, oh, Summer. He just had to steal her heart and all that could be his. He was determined to get Summer.

The clacking of Holly’s heel’s grabbed all six of their attention. They were currently chilling in Summer’s apartment; all six of them; Havana, Danielle, Cam, Zach and Jake.
Holly walked to the living room and looked around Summer’s apartment. It was her first time here. She looked amazed.
“Wow,” She commented, “Nice place, Sum,”
Summer grinned, “Thanks,” She beamed, “It was a gift from my parents.”
Holly scrunched her eyebrows, “And your parents are…?”
“Falls,” Jake piped in, remembering when he discovered who her parents were too, “Stephen and Regina Falls.”
“Ah,” Holly nodded, “Yes, the Falls,”
“Oh yeah, which reminded me,” Jake snapped his fingers, “Where’s the most public place in town, Holly?”
Holly removed her heels as she thought about it, “Well if you mean to get noticed then…” She said, “It has to be that celebrity club you were supposed to go to the last time, Palace of Poseidon.”
Jake nodded, “Anywhere...,” Jake tried to find the perfect word to fit what he was trying to say, “less flashy?”
Holly cracked a smile, “There are modern 5-star high class restaurants littered all over town,” She said, “But if you definitely want to get your dad’s attention,” Holly winked at Jake, understanding what he had meant all along, “then I suggest you and Summer go to Palace of Poseidon for a nice dinner; you know you can afford it.”
“Palace of Poseidon,” Danielle said, putting a finger to her chin, “Ah, when was the last time I went there?”
“With me,” Cameron slung an arm around her shoulder protectively. Danielle pursed her lips. Havana stifled a laugh.
“Of course I know that,” Danielle muttered, “you practically glared at every boy that tried to approach me!”
“Guys at Palace of Poseidon are snobs and players,” Cameron shrugged, “trust me, I know them.”
Danielle bit her lip, “Still!”
“Alright, alright,” Zach calmed them down, “Then Palace of Poseidon is next on our destination,”
“That rhymes!” Havana chirped. Zach grinned. Summer smirked internally, there was something going on between these two.
“So it’s set,” Cameron stood up and stretched. “Place: Palace of Poseidon, time: tonight?”
“Absolutely,” Zach beamed as they all went to get ready.

Havana and Danielle had insisted on doing Summer’s make-up, hair and outfit. Summer had tried to politely decline but it seemed more like an order, not an option so Summer had no say. They immediately brought her to Havana’s apartment since it was the nearest and Havana had the most make-up kits, equipment and clothing.
Havana’s apartment was almost similar to Summer’s in size, but it was decorated in a tropical theme, with bright colours and brilliant stunning flowers decorating almost everything in the apartment. It was very, very tropical. But then again, Havana was a beach person. With her nicely tanned skin and beautiful blonde, it wasn’t hard to tell.
Summer didn’t even have much time to admire her apartment because the minute she stepped in, they hurried her into Havana’s make-up room and sat her down on the dressing table, quickly starting to discuss about what they should do to Summer as Summer changed into a robe by their strict orders.
What has she gotten herself into?
