Chapter 10
There were all sorts of make-up stuff on the dresser table. You name it. Summer randomly chose a bottle and picked it up and read the label: ‘Eye shadow foundation’. Summer widened her eyes. Eye shadow foundation? Is that really necessary? She gulped and put the bottle back down as Havana and Danielle discussed what to do with her hair, make-up and what she would wear.
“I think we should go with that white dress you bought last week,” Danielle said, tapping her finger on her chin. “It compliments her body well.”
“What about that black dress from Marc Jacobs?” Havana scrunched her eyebrows, “She should stand out from the crowd.”
“Mm…” Danielle nodded slowly, deep in thought before she brightened, “I GOT IT!”
Havana and Summer whipped their heads to look at Danielle, surprised at her sudden outburst.
“Ana, do you remember that black dress you wore to Fiona’s birthday party that grabbed the attention of every guy there?” Danielle said enthusiastically, her eyes shining proudly.
Havana tried to remember, “You mean the one from Prada?” She asked.
“Yes!” Danielle squealed, “The black one that has straps and little slits at the waist area to show off your curves?”
“Oh my God,” Havana cried in delight, “That dress is perfect!”
“Match that with killer pumps and she’ll be drop dead gorgeous!” Danielle squealed as they made their decision. Summer stared at them in shock. She had no idea what they had for her.
Minutes later, Danielle already had a curler in one hand, a comb in the other, and already started to do Summer’s hair. Havana skillfully picked out all the right make-up she needed and started to apply foundation on Summer’s face. Their determination to make Summer look like a model was yet another side Summer hadn’t seen, well now she has, of them.

About 45 minutes later, Summer’s butt was sore. They had turned her chair to face her away from the mirror so that she couldn’t see what they were doing. There was no doubt Summer was excited about what they had in store for her, but at the same time nervous.
“We’re done!” Havana exclaimed, interrupting Summer and her thoughts. She was about to stand up to relief her butt but then they shoved her back down on the chair and she cringed in agony.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Dani joked, amused.
“To relief my butt,” She said bluntly.
“Well you can’t see the mirror yet,” Dani said and nodded at Havana. Havana then hurried out the room. About a minute later, she came back and had a dress in her hands, but she hid it from Summer’s view.
“Guys!” Summer whined, “I can’t even see the dress?”
“Your dress,” Dani corrected before covering Summer’s eyes with her hands.“What the hell, Dani!” Summer cried.
“Remove your robe,” Havana said coolly. Summer wanted to protest then decided against it. It was no use anyway. She discarded it and Havana and Summer helped her into the dress, zipping it up and positioning her in front of the mirror.
“Ready?” Dani asked happily.
“Let’s get this over with!” Summer cried out, sighing loudly.
“You can thank us later,” Havana smirked as Dani removed her hands from Summer’s eyes.
Summer looked into the mirror and couldn’t help but gasp loudly, her hand automatically flying to cover her mouth. Who was this girl in the mirror? Her hair was done in a bun that had many perfectly curled strands purposely pulled out to frame her face but at the same time create the kind of messy yet classy bun. Smoky eye shadow made her eyes pop and eye liner was professionally lined on her eyes. Her lashes were thick, full and long. On her lips was shiny lip gloss that made them pink and kissable.
Her dress was another story altogether. It was black and brushed the floor. It was sleeveless but had two black spaghetti straps and there were two slits at the sides of her waist, showing off her skin and her curves. It felt soft and comfortable to her skin. All in all, it was perfect.
“Wow,” Summer breathed out, “I look…”
“Absolutely beautiful,” Havana finished for her with a proud smile.
“This is sure to get everyone’s attention,” Dani beamed.
“Oh wait!” Havana disappeared from the room and returned with a pair of stunning black pumps, “The final piece of the outfit!”
Summer put them on and faced the mirror once again, a very big grin plastered on her face. She couldn’t help but twirl. She looked like a little girl getting her present on Christmas.
“The boys are going to flip when they see you,” Dani joked.

They decided to rendezvous at the lobby of Jake’s apartment so they could arrive grandly in Jake’s limo. It was Cam’s idea. Havana, Danielle and Summer arrived at 7 on the dot, all dressed up and prettified. Jake, Cam and Zach were just chilling around the lobby. Zach was the first one to notice them.
“Whoa,” Zach smirked, “And who is this lovely lady, here?”
Havana, Dani and Summer all looked surprised. He didn’t even recognize her! Dani quickly decided to play along, “Oh, this is Emilia,”“Oh, pleasure to meet you Emilia,” Zach said, his flirting mode on. He grabbed her hand and planted a kiss on it.
“You look an awful lot like Summer though,” Jake said.
“Yeah,” Cam agreed.
“That’s cause I am,” Summer sent them a you-should-know look and Zach jumped in surprise.
“Oh my God, Summer!” Zach grabbed her shoulders and looked at her, “Wow! You look stunning!”
Summer blushed, “Thanks Zach!”
“I almost didn’t recognize you!” Cam said, pulling her in for a hug. Summer grinned.
“Well um, we’d better get in the limo now!” Havana quickly reminded, “Or else we won’t get to Palace of Poseidon in time.”
They all entered the limo, excited for the night. Jake took a seat next to Summer. They all lapsed into a comfortable silence, occasionally breaking the silence with short conversations and jokes.
“You look beautiful,” Jake whispered huskily into Summer’s ear. She froze at his sudden closeness.
“Thanks, Jake,” She breathed out. “You don’t look too bad yourself,” He didn’t. He looked extra handsome in his black suit and black tie that matched Summer’s dress.
“Everyone’s going to want you,” He muttered, snaking an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. She couldn’t help but blush. But thankfully it was dark so he couldn’t see it. “Don’t leave my side.”
“I won’t,” Summer assured. It was her first time going to Palace of Poseidon. She’s definitely going to stick close to Jake, that’s for sure.
“Good,” Jake smiled and kissed Summer’s forehead. Summer’s breathing stopped but quickly covered up her surprise.
Sometimes, in little moments, like that, Summer just felt like they were a real couple. Just a little.
