when calum walked me into my room, i turned around to faced him. "calum? thank you."

"anytime, noelle." he nods. "i should, um, i should go."

"you can stay." i spoke all too quickly. "you said it yourself, it's late. i have to get some stuff done anyway, so you can sleep if you'd like."

"i don't want—"

"u-unless you don't want to, 'c-cause i understand completely." i stammered. "i just—"

"noelle." calum says, holding my wrists and standing right in front of me. "it's quite fine, thank you."

"you're about luke's height, maybe a tad shorter." i tilted my head, examining my professor. "some of his stuff is in that drawer over there from when we were packing and got it mixed up. you can change into those if you'd like. speaking of luke and packing, i really do think he has all of my books at his place."

"noelle, i thought you said none of these friends of yours were boyfriends of any sorts?" calum questions as he takes out a pair of sweatpants from the drawer.

"they're not." i restate. "luke is like my brother. we literally do everything together. sometimes i think we were one of those families that rotates weeks with their parents. one week i was at his place, one week he was at mine. it was weird, but it worked, by the grace of god it did."

"i see." he nods.

by the time i had turned around to once more, calum was already changed into luke's sweatpants and no longer wearing a shirt.

holy shit i'm horrible when i'm buzzed.

"like what you see, little girl?" calum questions with a smirk.

"i—"

"my little, little girl." he mumbled, tilting my chin up to face him. "i think it's time you and i get some rest, wouldn't you agree?"

"yes sir." i mumbled.

"don't tempt me, little girl." he spoke lowly. "tell me, love, how much did you have to drink tonight?"

"just about enough not to drive, but enough to keep my conscience clear." i said. "i'm in control of my decisions."

"so if i were to pull you in closer like this, and look down at you like this." he spoke as he did what he said. "what would you do, exactly?"

"i-i don't know." i whispered.

"only you can make these decisions, noelle." calum said softly. "i think it's time we get some rest."

calum slowly backed away and got into my bed, shifting over to one side.

"come on now." he called. "noelle, what are you doing?"

"going to sleep." i said as i laid down on the floor.

and as soon as i closed my eyes, i was lifted from the ground by a strong pair of hands and thrown onto my bed and held in those same strong arms.

"i don't think so, little girl." calum spoke. "the only place you're sleeping tonight is right her next to me."

oh boy...
