"what are you two dipshits laughing about now?" i question the blonde boy on my left and blondish-brunette girl next to him.

"oh nothing." nora hums. "so, what happened to you last night? you seem happier."

"i'm not feeling like shit compared to yesterday." i point out. "and, uh, aiden kind of made an appearance last night..."

"he what!?" the both shouted, loud enough to make some people stare for a moment.

"yeah..." i trailed off.

"are you okay?" nora asks. "what happened?"

"i'm fine." i sighed. "i was just... scared, i guess? i don't know, but then calum came around and  i was okay."

"he must really like you." luke says. "i'm sorry, ellie, if i has just walked you out or something—"

"stop apologising." i said. "if you want to do something for me, buy me more italian spring rolls."

suddenly, there was a loud knock on the classroom door.

a student opened it, and it revealed the dean of the school with a really pretty girl stood next to him.

she couldn't be younger than 21.

"mr hood." the dean nodded. "you have a visitor, she says it's urgent."

"caroline." calum says in disbelief. "c-can we take this outside, please? class, get back to work."

"do you know her?" nora whispers to me.

"no." i mumble. "i-i have to go. if he asks for me after class, he's going to, just stay b-behind. i wont be back until tonight."

"there's two doors for a reason, hun." nora winks. "we'll see you later."

and the next thing i knew, i was flying out the door on the other end of the lecture hall, running out of the building and back to my dorm.

"dean gregerson, what's the meaning of this?" i ask my boss.

"we need to speak, all three of us." he said. "my office, now."

and as we walked, i caught a glimpse of a girl leaving the lecture hall from the opposite door.

and it wasn't just any girl, it was her.

and now i'm fucked...
