Forever and a Day

CHAPTER 5

POV's will change in somepart of the story. Get ready to witness Jake's POV! :> 

           I rushed down stairs to grab breakfast. Jake was already here and he has been waiting for me for about twenty minutes now. I can’t believe how punctual he is! When he says 6:30, he arrives at 6:30… or earlier. But in my case, I was the queen of being late since sleeping was and always will be important to me. I walked past the lounge and Jake was just sitting their patiently fiddling with my baby picture that was placed on a coffee table. He saw me and smiled.

“Good morning, baby. Take your time, I’ll wait,” He said smirking at me. I felt uneasy because of those words that he says almost every day. Dang, I have got to wake up earlier.

“Sorry, baby. I’m such a pain in the ass.” I said looking at the carpet, frowning a little.

I know how boring it can get in here during the mornings and he had to endure total boredom just because of me. He stood up and came up to me cupping my face in his hands. He looked at me in the eyes and said, “Nonsense, baby. I’ll wait forever if I have to. Now go eat your breakfast and I’ll have none if this you being a “pain in the ass”, okay?” He kissed me lightly and let go of my face. I smiled at him warmly. That’s it; I have the best boyfriend ever.

He turned me around to face the kitchen and gave me a slight push. “Seriously, I’ll wait.” He said chuckling.

I walked towards the kitchen grabbing whatever I can and putting it in a Tupperware. My mom eyed me with a look that says “What do you think you’re doing?” So before she even said a word, I answered her look.

“I’m saving these for school,” I started.

I walked closer to her and whispered, “Jake has been waiting way too long.” She laughed and nodded.

“Okay then. Take care, dear.” She said smiling at me warmly.

J A K E ‘ S   P O V

I waited patiently for Zoe to finish up in the kitchen. I had meant what I said earlier. I am willing to wait forever if I have to. After a few minutes, she came out of the kitchen waving goodbye to her mom. I smiled at Michelle and she smiled back, her usual smile flashing.

“Shall we?” Zoe said nodding towards the door.

“Indeed we shall,” I responded to her formal remark.

As we were walking down the driveway, I held her hand and intertwined our fingers. I just couldn’t believe how perfectly they fit. This girl was definitely destined to be mine. I opened the car door for her and she slipped in gracefully. She looked at me with the same spark in her eyes every single day. I gave her a wink and she smiled looking away.

I parked the car at the edge of the parking lot near the main road because there were no more good spots left. We’ve always parked at what’s left of the spaces. Zoe was always fashionably late but it’s okay as long as I drive her to school. We still had an hour of “free time” on our hands; class doesn’t start ‘till 8:30. I saw one of my friends coming up to me. He must want to talk more about football practice schedules. For some reason, Scott Ryans was always clingy; wherever I was, he was there. It was honestly getting me creeped out and sometimes I ask other people if he was gay or something.

“Hey, bro,” He said beaming at me with so much enthusiasm.

He seemed more excited that I was whenever I see Zoe. “Hey,” I replied casually, sounding more uninterested than I already was.

He seemed to notice that and I got a glimpse of hurt in his face but it lit up soon enough for me to not feel guilty. “C’mmon dude! Show a little man spirit!” He said giving me series of punches in the arm.
