       I woke up to a massive headache. Everything felt like an unsolved puzzle, each piece not fitting each. I got up and took a quick look at myself in the mirror. Messy hair, huge eye bags, skinny arms… Hmm, everything seems to be in just about normal.

          I checked my phone for any new messages and I was surprised to have found one from Luke. Luke, Jake’s twin. Luke the douche who gave me a major lecture about my relationship with Jake. Luke the asshole who only pretended to be nice. Luke the dirt bag who rubbed my mistakes in my face. Ugh, I hate him.

         Luke 6:30 AM

Hey, I’m sorry about all the things I said. I know they were wrong and I didn’t have the right to say all those things to u. And ur right about certain things about me and Jake. Now if u would just let me explain and take u to dinner, meet me @ O’Hare’s, later, 5 PM . My treat. I’ll pick u up at ur school tomorrow. I have a surprise for u. ;-)

         Sweet mother of all that is annoying, this dude’s gone nuts! One moment he’s beyond rude to you then the next he wants to treat you at your favorite and probably the only decent diner in town. I can’t believe the mood swings of this guy. Well maybe I should give him a chance… or maybe I shouldn’t. I have school today which is just perfect. I could go ask Lawrence about it, but then again, we kissed. We kissed. I don’t know whether I could muster up all the strength to talk to him. I can’t bear the awkwardness that will be present around us.

          Class was unusually fast, before I knew it, it was already 4:30 PM. Time went by very unwontedly fast. I hate it whenever I need the time to think and the timekeepers from somewhere won’t give it to me. Earlier, an hour before dismissal and an hour after contemplating my options, I came down to a decision. I loved Jake; loved him more than anything. What I’m doing with Lawrence is wrong, very wrong. Or at least I think it is. But all I know is that I needed space. I needed some time to think. So I’ll stop being a sissy and finally talk to Lawrence. After all, what have I got to lose? I found him by the west wing of the parking lot just when he was hopping on his motorcycle.

          “Lawrence, wait up!” I jogged past the students who were doing their own businesses. Some were making on the hood of someone’s pickup truck, some were so mentally absorbed in their handheld video games, the jocks were heading somewhere, I’m guessing the football field where Jake once trained… my Jake… and someone was being robbed off his lunch money. This is so typical for a high school. I sighed as I stopped right in front of Lawrence. This is it, Knight. No turning back now. I thought nonchalantly to myself.

          “What up?” Lawrence asked in his usual cool tone. I noticed that he had a different glow added to him. It’s like an aura of happiness is radiating from his skin and onto the people he speaks to.

          “This’ll just be quick. I have somewhere to go.” I paused and took a deep breath. When it took too long for me to start, he raised an eyebrow and looked at me impatiently. “We haven’t got all day, you know,”
