Pic of Jake on the side ;) ---->
I ran down the stairs wanting to get out of the house as soon as I can. I went in the kitchen to give mom a good bye kiss. I burst through the kitchen door and she snapped. I guess I should’ve knocked.
“Why so early, honey?” She said in her usual, loving voice.
I flashed my “you-know-what-I-mean” smile not knowing what to say. She took a quick glance at the calendar then she nodded knowingly.
“Ah, I see.” She said giving me a wink.
“Stop it, mom.” I chuckled.
I heard footsteps coming from the stairs. “Gross. I really don’t know why you’re boyfriend’s all over you… I just don’t get the point.” Toby, my almost-older brother teased while grabbing the toast that was in my hand and started eating a mouthful.
Toby was gross. He was utterly the most disgusting brother ever. He’s less than a year older than me; nine months, to be exact and he considers those nine months really important. He has messy brown hair, and chocolate brown eyes just like mine. He has a toned and somehow muscular body because of football. He was in the team with Jake. And for some reason, girls at school love him. Maybe it was because they didn’t get to live with him and see the gross and disgusting interior of this boy. I guess I would never understand why.
“Oh yeah? Well, at least he can settle for just one girl instead of a million,” I said raising an eyebrow at him.
“Go on now; I know you have important matters to attend to.” Mom said cutting our conversation.
Hmm, she might’ve put a lot more stress on the word important. Boy, she knew a lot. Good thing she’s the most understanding mom in the whole wide universe. I was so lucky to have her.
“Bye, mom.” I said grabbing a piece of toast smothered in butter.
“Bye, dear. Take care!” She said in a high-pitched, enthusiastic voice.
I could still hear her and Toby’s voice. They were arguing about table manners. I laughed quietly at the routine of the two.
I had to walk to school because it would take me even longer to wait for Toby get ready for school and have him drive me there considering the fact that when I left, he was just in his boxers and literally just got out of bed. I walked faster in excitement. School is going to be awesome.
I walked across the parking lot as fast as I could. I stopped a few meters in front of the main entrance. There were lots of people blocking the way. They seem to be fussing about something. I was making my way towards the commotion when a freshman walked up to me handing me a pink tulip.
“Uh… thanks?” I smiled at him and he smiled back showing cute dimples. Without a word, he walked away.
“Okay… that was weird.” I said to myself.
Another boy came up to me and handed me another pink tulip. I was totally confused. Why are all these boys giving me tulips? I smiled at the sophomore who did what the freshman did. He smiled back and walked away. I continued walking towards the excited and somehow squealing crowd. I was almost there when another boy came up to me and gave me yet another pink tulip. I smiled at him and the junior also did what the freshman and sophomore did. Seriously! What is going on? I finally reached the edge of the crowd without and further interruptions.
“Hey Jeanette, what’s with all the ruckus?” I asked a good friend of mine, Jeanette Moris.
She gave me huge grin which was weird, because it did not answer my question at all. “She’s here!” She yelled addressing to someone in front of the crowd.
