" So... we found these people who were on the side of the road. They said that their group abandoned them," Willow explained. There were two guys beside them. They looked about the age of 15-16, Asian looking.
" Can't you see I'm busy?" Askova quietly replied. She was lying down on her bed in her hospital room.
" You need to give them the tour of the place."
" Why?"
" 'Cause you're our leader?"
" Who said I was your leader? I'm only fourteen," Askova replied.
" She's your leader?" One of the boys asked.
" I think she said that she isn't," the other boy said.
" You should listen to them," Askova told Willow.
" They don't know us," Willow retorted. The two guys just stood there. One of them walked around to the other side of the bed to see what Askova looked like.
" Hey Daniel, come here," one of the boys said. Askova had a sad look on her face. She was laying down. The guy bent down to look at her face. Askova whacked her hand across his face. There was a big red mark on his cheek.
" Ow!" he complained. Daniel walked over.
" You made a big mistake messing with her," Daniel replied.
" Why?"
" Well, look at her face." Askova had a grumpy cat expression on her face right now.
" Well, I'll leave you to it," Willow replied, getting ready to leave the room.
" I just said I'm not doing it," Askova replied.
" Alright, I'll ask Atkinson if he can do it."
" He probably will because this is his hospital." Willow left.
" So... what's your name?" Daniel asked. Askova didn't answer, " I'm Daniel, but people just call me Danny. This is my brother Robert."
" Nice to meet you. I'm Askova." Askova was still lying on her bed, but she smiled a little bit.
" I have never heard of the name Askova before," Robert commented.
" It's Russian, and not very common," she said.
" Isn't that a company name?" Danny asked.
" Who cares?" Askova was very sad. She was still a little sick, and very tired. She has been in bed for a few days now. She was sad that she couldn't get out of bed and kick some cannibal butt.
" I guess I'll give you guys a tour of this place," Askova sighed. She slowly got out of bed, then coughed.
" Uhm, no, it's fine. You don't have to," Danny suggested.
" I oblige, so shut up and let me give you the tour." Askova was still wearing her clothes that she was wearing a few days ago; jeans and a hoodie the hospital provided for her. She just realized that she hasn't taken a shower in about a week.
" I need to take a shower," she replied.
" It's fine. We haven't taken one in a month," Robert chuckled. Askova just stared at him.
" If you're trying to flirt with me, it's not working."
Askova walked down the corridor with Danny and Robert right behind them. They entered the lounge.
" This is the lounge, obviously," Askova said. People stared at them. Robert started playing on his phone.
" WAIT! We have internet?!" A patient replied. Robert looked over and nodded his head.
" Um, yeah. It's not like the infected invaded the space stations and towers and destroyed the internet," he said. The same patient got on her phone and logged into the internet, a guest account. She gasped.
" OMG, my Facebook followers are all dead. But someone just uploaded a photo a few hours ago," she said. She started to get sucked into her phone like everyone is these days.
" Wow, they're all dead, how surprising," Askova said, in an exaggerating tone.
" How could you be so rude about that?" Danny asked.
" The government is still alive, and people are going to die."
" How is the government alive?"
"'Cause we have internet."
" Oh," Askova just sighed, "but she just said that someone uploaded a photo a few hours ago," Danny objected. Askova took note of that and walked back over to the girl with the phone. She grabbed the phone out of her hands.
" Hey!" The girl exclaimed. Askova looked at the phone. The guy's name was supposedly Wyatt Key. He looked about the age of 18-30, probably 25. His location was St. Louis. The photo was him in a dark place, plants around him. The caption read:
I don't know if anyone is seeing this, but if you are, I would like to let you know that I am alive and scared. I am in St. Louis if anyone wants to come and rescue me. Location: Botanical Garden. I'm out of food and water, and the dead knows I'm here. The door is blocked, so watch out.
" Rescue" was a strong word. Askova thought she should help him out, but the Botanical Garden was miles away from the hospital. She gave the phone back to the girl and ran out of the lounge.
