Askova was heading towards her hospital room when she looked at the elevators. She thought of something.
Hang on, Dr. Atkinson never said anything about the elevators not being able to go to floor 6. Maybe... she thought. She was careful when walking towards the elevators, making sure no one saw her. She pressed the down button next to the elevator, then walked in backward when the doors opened. She pressed the button that would take her to floor 6. The doors closed, then took her there. When the doors opened again, she walked out, immediately regretting something.
" Dammit, I forgot a weapon," she whispered to herself. She grabbed the nearest thing that could be a weapon, a clipboard, " eh, that'll do. The worst that could happen is that I could get lost, or probably die. Eh, whatever." Askova walked down the hallway pretty slowly. It was dark, and the lights were flashing. It gave her the chills.
" Man, this floor is deserted." Askova saw dead bodies on the ground. She walked down, trying not to make any noise. She accidentally tripped over a chair, " ah fudge popsicle. That hurt." She held her knee, which was slightly bruised. She continued walking, stumbling across a room. She heard munching and saw a cannibal in there eating a body. She sighed, and quietly walked in, ready to hit the cannibal in the head. All of a sudden, she heard it say, " man, this is good," Askova was freaked out.
" WHAT!!?" She walked back, and tripped, again. The talking cannibal quickly turned around, holding an intestine, and was still chewing some of it. She sure didn't look like a cannibal, she looked just like a human. Askova was just staring at her.
" Uh, hi," the talking cannibal said. Askova screamed.
" Ahhh, talking cannibal!!" Askova got up and ran out and towards the elevator. She ran as fast as the gingerbread man. The talking cannibal was running after her, " ahhh! running talking cannibal!" Askova arrived at the elevator, and pressed the 'up' button, and anxiously waited. She was still holding the clipboard. When the talking, running cannibal appeared, she whacked the clipboard against its head.
" Ow, what was that for?" complained the cannibal. The elevator doors opened.
" Uh, what?" Askova was confused, " Um, are you a cannibal?" she asked. The cannibal looked at her.
" Kinda. I'm half dead and half human. When I was bit, my immune system stopped and fought the rest of the virus from getting to my brain. I have a really strong immune system, so the virus didn't really get past it," explained the cannibal, " you call them cannibals?" Askova nodded, "like it better than deadly, that's for sure." Askova just stared at her. The cannibal-human looked at her, in a friendly way. She had wavy brown hair, up in a topknot. She was wearing black glasses, and doctor apparel. She had very washed out green eyes, not the normal green eye colour. She had bloody attire.
" So, um, what are you doing here?" asked Askova, careful. The cannibal-human sighed.
" When I was bit, they knew I wasn't all... cannibal, but I have a craving for human bodies," she said. Askova looked disgusted, " um, dead human bodies, you know when they have already been eaten? So, they thought that I could eat all of the leftover dead bodies so the smell won't spread and cannibal won't come here," she finished. Askova still looked disgusted.
" So... you're basically just a human trash can?" she asked. She chuckled a little.
" Heh, I guess. But not exactly since I, you know, don't eat live humans," she replied.
" So, what's your name?" Askova asked once more.
" Irma Bauer. I was a doctor here," she replied.
" I can see that," Askova replied, looking at her clothes.
" So, what is your name?" Irma asked. Askova pressed the up button near the elevator and looked at Irma.
" Askova. Askova Hunt. I'm a new patient here. Kinda," Askova replied. Irma nodded.
" Well, I was buried deep here when this outbreak first started, so I only knew the patients that I have worked with and saw. I never saw you, so that makes sense." Irma dropped her intestine and wiped her hands on her surprisingly pretty clean doctor's coat thing. Well, it's not so clean anymore. The elevator opened. Askova walked in and nodded at Irma to get in. She did, and the elevator door closed.
