Faye:

"Look at them! They all look so great!"

So that's basically what I'm saying while we're standing backstage, still watching another band performing their song. As for ourselves, we're already dressed in the outfits for our own performance that'll follow this song. We'll be performing a cover, before singing a song of our own and of course we're going to perform the songs with the other bands that are a guest at this show as well. It's all so awesome and so much fun! "This song is so good and just look at them and how they're dancing!" I exclaim impressed, secretly wanting to go on stage and dance along with them. We attended their dance rehearsal, to see how our group performance should look like but actually, we were just talking to them instead of listening to the choreographer. Basically, we only include a small bit of choreography for our own performances, mainly doing gestures with our arms and hands - or implying to dance when we're actually just walking around to the music. But that looks fine, compared to just standing around like our choreographer planned for us. And yet I'm fascinated when seeing them dancing as they do, wanting to dance as well.

"They look great, but now we need to take our place for our song." Claire reminds me, as we watch the other band leaving the stage under applause.

"Please welcome: Steps!" the host announces and again, the audience applauds as we enter the stage, taking our place like we already know how to do. We're supported by a few backing dancers - making our lack of dancing not too obvious. We start to sing as soon as the music starts playing - or let's say, I start to sing because I'm singing a part alone, just like H and Claire do as well. I try to ignore the fact that people might look at me now, doing the little choreography as good as possible even if my back is still slightly hurting when dancing like we're used to do. But whatever, it's just so much fun that I can't help and dance a bit - yet being somehow glad when the others join in the chorus. We're a band after all, it's just correct when we're singing together - altough H and Claire absolutely nailed their part of singing alone. And considering the applause we receive, the audience loved it too.

We head off backstage after our song, now needing to change into our new outfit. What's even more great about our dressing rooms is that there's a little tv screen - so while we change and are styled, we can perfectly watch the other bands performing their songs and covers. I find myself singing along to the song that a band is just performing, the styling crew telling me to sit still because of wanting to do the hair extensions properly. "Sorry." I say. "But you all need to look at them, their dancing is splendid! Obviously their singing is too - but their dancing is just wow."

"I admit, they're actually pretty good. They're all great and I bet it's such an honor for everyone to perform at this show." Claire replies, being rather bored by the dancing factor though.

"It truly is." Lisa replies while doing her lashes again. "It's so great to perform here."

"Speaking of performing, you really nailed your part." I tell Claire, looking at Lisa apologetically. Sadly she and Lee were only singing with us in the chorus.

"Thank you! I really enjoyed singing my part." she answers with a grin. "But you were great too."

"We were all great." I correct her. "Or at least, I think so. Who knows what we'll read about our performances." I continue, walking around excited.

"Stop walking around like that and calm down a bit." Claire demands.

"It's just all so great here and so exciting!" I add happily, nervously playing with my hair extensions.

"I know, it's totally great." Claire teases, seeming slightly annoyed by the excitement for this show. They all should know from filming our debut album that I usually behave like this, squealing and laughing, when being excited. And probably they're already annoyed enough because I was only talking about this show ever since we entered the band car. "And we're just as excited as you are - but you should really calm down a bit."
