Faye:

So, what should I say? Our debut song didn't topped the charts as we somehow expected. People seemed to like it, they really do, but not as much as we hoped. We already, secretly, said our goodbyes to each other, knowing that the project of Steps seemed to be done now. That was when we we're called to the studio. Pete told us that, despite the little success our song reached, he wanted to continue with us as a band, already planning on a new album with several songs - one of whom he wants to be released soon. At least that's how we planned it together, the songs will be released when being finished alongside the video, and when a few songs are done, we'll release a studio album.

A bit time passed since this conversation about the album. Despite the band life works out great at the moment, I can't say that for the relationship between Travis and me. Ever since he first slapped me, he's constantly abusive. I'm glad that the band isn't asking any questions; who knows what Travis would do if I would tell the band about him being abusive. True it makes my confidence disappear and doubting myself but oh well. This all here is about our new album and I should stop thinking about relationships when the band life is quite hectic at the moment. We need to focus on our album, on our music and not on some relationship stuff. Means to include the focus on our song and exclude the thoughts about relationship problems. Besides, maybe Travis is correct with what he says.

Anyways, back to the importance of our current work now. It's a beautiful spring day and we're sitting outside of the house, occasionally admiring the garden. Not my house though, as I don't want Travis to shout at the others too. Claire offered us to go to her house, where she lives with her boyfriend, to practice the songs for ourselves - also because her house is the closest to the studio. "Guys, listen! There's not much time, you know that the song will be released soon." Claire commands. We all look at her, exhaling as we realize the importance of this album. It needs to work before Pete decides that the band is not working out at all. We really want to reach the top of the charts hence we should be more focused. This album just needs to work - or let's say, at least this song should work for now. "Good, now you're listening." she says happily. "We should try practice this part here." she continues, pointing at the text for it. "You know that we still sound really wooden in the chorus and a chorus is what makes the song the way it is."

"Well said, you music expert." Lisa teases her. We all tease each other a bit at the moment because, unlike our debut song, the new songs consits mostly of us girls singing with the boys joining in the chorus. Not that we mind, it's amazing to sing a part alone despite little shyness.

"This song is a cover, we need to prove our talent." Claire explains.

"We know that." I reply, slightly annoyed. She's not the leader of this group, although she likes to behave like that - though we don't tell her that to avoid discussions.

"Good that you know it." she teases. "Then sing."

We practice the song for quite a while, sometimes the whole song and sometimes just the chorus, until we decide that it's time for a little freetime - and also because we don't want to annoy the neighbours. So we walk back into the house, already planning on our little journey to the place where our new music videos will be filmed. I admit, that we all like to travel for filming these videos. When we were filming for our debut song, it was a lot of fun! We will head off again soon, travel to the place where our music video will be recorded (we were told that this time it'll be filmed partly on a pool) and return to await if the song will impress the people.

"Guys, I need to go." H announces. "Packing my stuff, you know."

"How about packing earlier?" I ask teasingly. "Also, you actually don't need much, we're not staying that long."
