Tensions

Faye:

We recently returned from our latest concert, satisfied with how amazing it was and how the crowd was cheering to us. Nevertheless, during all these concerts we were performing, there was nothing else but tension between us. We were arguing with each other about basically everything; our songs, the division of our lines and about who spends time with whom. And now, while sitting in the band car on our way to the recording studio, we burst into an argument again - with Pete listening to us closely.

"Why do you actually behave like this towards us?" Claire asks loudly, speaking to no one in particular.

"Who's the 'us' you're talking of?" Lisa asks back, equally loud. "It's H and you who do everything together recently - like a couple! Are you secretly in love our something?"

"Are you mad? We aren't a couple and neither are we in love, don't be stupid! But you're not even asking us if we would like to accompany you to your bar trips or something."

"What?" I ask confused. "Why did in fact ask you plenty of times if you would like to do something with us, but you denied."

She didn't wanted to celebrate with us after we won at the Brit Awards; yes I hadn't want to go celebrating either but that's not the point. The point is that Claire (and occasionally H) are annoyed if Lisa and me are recommending bars or places to go partying saying this is boring. At least we mostly got Lee on our sides. But being as nice as he simply is, he usually wants to find something we all approve of. Which is what then leads to arguments.

The point is that Claire is saying she's not in the mood to go a bar. I still remember when I joked about a dance floor being at one of the bars we wanted to go to and she just said that it was great for us - but she isn't interested. Or how she snapped at Lisa to 'Just accept it' that they're not in the mood to go partying with us. And during our recent concerts, she wasn't in the mood for doing something with us either; mostly staying in the hotel room with H.

"Yes, because it's always going to these stupid bars. Can't you think of a better idea?" Claire then snaps, purely annoyed by now.

"A better idea? Yes, how about dividing the lines in a song perfectly?" Lisa exclaims angrily, fully knowing that Pete could hear that too.

"Oh, really? You're talking about that again? Well, you're not the most talented singer so-"

"Would you please not say that!" Lee joins our conversation now, loudly. I bet that sentence annoyed him as well, given the fact that he's not singing much in our songs either.

"What? Are you all on her side? Do you think this girl over here is saying the truth?" Claire shouts, pointing at Lisa while they both look furios at each other with rage.

"I want you all to stop arguing!" Lee demands. "Why do you behave like this now? What's gotten into you girls?"

"Because you don't see how you all behave yourself! You're annoying me!" Claire shouts back. "If H and me are chosen as lead singers, it's the decision of our management and you need to accept that. We all have talent but maybe we-"

"That's true guys and I would like you to stop arguing now, we need to focus on our new songs and the concerts we're planning." Pete interrupts the whole argument, seeming calm compared to us. How can he stay so calm? Doesn't he get that his own band is arguing like madness?

"Songs where we just sing in the chorus." Lisa says. "Great. Why not using us as simple backing singers?"

"Mind your words!" Pete growls at her, now slowly being angry too.

"Oh yeah, true. You're on their side."

"Enough, I don't want you to behave like that!" he shouts loudly, making us all shrug. "That's enough now. For real guys, what would the journalists say if they would know that you're all arguing like this?"
