Prologue

1912

Titanic maiden voyage

(Y/N) Pov:

I stood on the dock in Southampton, watching as all the other passengers of the RMS Titanic boarded the gigantic ship.

She was heading to New York City, America.

And so was a very close friend of mine.

Baxter.

Allow me to explain.

My friend, Baxter, has pale skin and likes to wear a blue suit with a matching hat on top. His hair is dark blue with some yellow undertones to it and has a pair of glasses resting on the bridge of his nose.

I had (H/L), (H/C) hair and was wearing a black dress going down just above my ankles with some high heeled boots.

I was with my dad, my mother staying back at home by herself. She never approved of me and Baxter being friends, since he was a mad scientist who did grotesque experiments on humans.

Me and my father never really minded though.

My dad stood next to me, looking up at the giant ship.

"Wow Baxter. You sure do get to ride such a fancy cruiseliner. Too bad you have to flee the country on her" says dad.

Baxter, who was currently wearing a black suit and a black fedora on his head as a disguise, glanced over at my dad, nodding.

"Yah, wish I didn't have to though. I'm gonna miss you both, but I have no choice since the police are after me. Hopefully no one will recognize me while I'm on the ship. As long as I get on Amarican soil, they won't be able to arrest me since I've crossed the border. Really wish you could come with me though" said Baxter, turning to me.

I offered a sad smile, shaking my head.

"Wish I could too, but hopefully me and dad will have enough money by next month to catch the Titanic as well. We're planning on running away from home, away from mom. Hopefully we'll be able to see each other again when we get to New York next month" I say, smiling gently.

Baxter chuckled.

"Send me a letter before you leave, that way I can be there to greet you when you do arrive" says Baxter, smiling back.

I sigh.

"I'm gonna miss you so much Baxter. You're my best friend!" I say sadly, looking down.

Baxter gently grabbed my chin and lifted up my head so we were looking at each other.

"Don't worry. I'll miss you too, but this isn't goodbye forever. I promise, we'll see each other again someday" said Baxter, leaning his forehead against mine.

I sigh and smiled gently.

The Titanic's horn blared loudly, signaling that it's almost time to leave.

"I gotta go, otherwise I'll miss my boat" said Baxter, pulling away and grabbing his suitcase.

"Stay safe Baxter...." I say sadly.

Baxter smiled and nodded.

"I will (Y/N)" he said, before turning and walking up the long plank up to the ship's deck.

The planks were removed as the ship started moving.

All the passengers gathered near the railing, waving to their family and friends.
