With Baxter:

Baxter hissed, glaring at the Imp as he hugged Pirxon’s fishbowl close to him.

“There’s NO fucking way you’ll make me get on that riverboat!” exclaimed Baxter angrily, holding back the urge to go into his full demon form.

Lennix just sat at the table across from Baxter, seeming to not be phased when the Anglerfish demon hissed.

He sighed, his hands still clasped together.

“Please, it’ll help you get over your fear, and you’ll be able to make it up to her. Serenade WANTS you two to make up and get back together. She’s devastated that she won’t be able to spend time with you BOTH during her birthday the next day after” said Lennix, not giving up on convincing the Anglerfish demon.

Baxter thought about it for a moment before snarling, glaring at Lennix.

“No” said Baxter, hugging Pirxon’s fishbowl closer.

Pirxon just blinked, seeming to also not be phased by Baxter’s immature act.

Lennix sighed again, hanging his head as the gears in his brain began to turn faster, trying to think of some other ways to convince Baxter to attend.

“You said you had a surprise to show her. What was it?” asked Lennix, glancing up at Baxter.

Baxter just glared.

“Not tell you. It’s a surprise” said Baxter, not wanting to spoil the surprise.

He wanted to show his wife that he still loved and cared about her, and he wanted to do this by making it up to her with all the arguing they had been doing, and he wanted to start by getting over the problem they had been arguing about the most.

But he didn’t want to tell the Imp about it, considering it was a surprise for everyone in the family, including Serenade.

It was also the reason why he returned so late the day he went to the Science Facility.

Lennix nodded in understanding, having a feeling that Baxter would decline.

The two perked up when they heard a knock at the door.

“Fuck off” shouted Baxter, hugging Pirxon’s fishbowl tighter, glaring at the door.

Lennix glared at Baxter before rolling his eyes, returning his attention back to the door.

“Come in” called Lennix.

Baxter glared at Lennix as Charlie and Alastor came into the hotel room.

“Hi Baxter, Lennix. Sorry to bother you two, but…” began Charlie, the two stepping into the room, Alastor closing the door behind them.

Alastor got the hint that Charlie was struggling to find the right words to explain it, so he decided to be the one to break the news to the Anglerfish demon.

“Baxter, we have news for you which will make you VERY upset and most likely enraged” started Alastor, grinning.

Charlie nodded as Lennix tilted his head to the side.

“What is it?” asked Baxter, pouting as he looked down at Pirxon.

Charlie chuckled nervously before taking a deep breath, calming down.

“Ok...well, me and Alastor had gone for that meeting at Vox’s mansion, about the Overlord Ball. We saw (Y/N) there, and we had a little chat before the meeting started. She said that she and Serenade were both doing well, and that they were ready for the ball tomorrow, and then Serenade’s birthday the day after” explained Charlie, chickening out at the last moment.
