Officer Hays's POV
I waited for the results to come out after a year of her last appearance. We took back everything and waited for her to show her face. Especially when she was last seen as pregnant... she had to show up with the baby soon. Even with a miscarriage... it has to be on record at a hospital. I waited for a year... just in case if she had a late child.
"Got it!" I turned to see the results printing as the techie smirked. "Hays... we found her."

I walked up to the door wearing the bulletproof vest and a handgun all locked and loaded. We had to go silent... all because we knew that there was a baby girl in there, and a boy held hostage. Silently, we broke the door open and saw the sleeping child in a crib. The parents were not in sight.
Quietly, I walked to the baby, hearing some noises in the other room and I just... took the sleeping child. On instinct, the child began to cry and I heard people were clamoring to the other side. Protectively, I took the child out of the room and escorted the child.
She cried loudly for her parents... but I held her close like she was my own child. I shushed her quietly, slowly bouncing her in my arms. "You're safe..." I say quietly as my people ran in to arrest Hanji and her lover. We identified him as Levi Ackerman, because he disappeared at the same time Hanji did. And we figured... he was in on the murders.
"Sir... the child... what would become of her?" A young woman asked, peering lovingly at the child.
"At most... foster care."
"She doesn't deserve that, sir... she needs a family and not raised through the system-"
"It's better than the killers there." I say, looking towards the room. "Both of them are killers... and I don't want this young child being raised like them. If I must, I'll raise her as my own. I know, it breaks protocol... but I'll raise her."
The young woman smiled, chuckling. That's great, Hays. What are you gonna call her?"
"Her birth name... Raven. But I'm gonna remove anything that relates to her real parents. And that includes her middle name. From now on, she's Raven Anita Hays. Please remember that."
"I will sir."
Seconds later, both Levi and Hanji were in cuffs and escorted into different patrol cars. The sad part was that I heard them crying each other's name and soon, they drifted towards me and cried for their daughter. I cupped Raven's ears, hoping that she wouldn't hear their last voices.
Another officer comes back, sighing heavily. "What should we do with the both of them?"
"Send Ackerman to the station to be processed. Zoe needs to go to facility. After all, the CDC wants her kind."
"Her kind, sir?"
I sighed, holding Raven close to my beating chest. "She has a rare genetic disease. It wasn't tested until she was pretty young. Her biological mother had it... and it's a possible chance that their child might have it." I looked down, sighing softly. "I hope she doesn't have it. I'll raise her as much as I can."
