Hanji's POV
Oh... how Levi gave me love and ensuring that I was safe. None of us were able to go anywhere because our faces was plastered everywhere... just like last time. Except... Levi was also shown. How could they put him up to be hunted? If they ever do hurt him... they can feel my wrath. Even Raven's picture was put up as a missing child... kidnapped.
But she knew that she wanted to be with us. Raven always laughed and seemed to be happy... but then... I knew she wasn't. From time to time, I noticed that she was cold and... not normal. I smiled, knowing her true identity. As my daughter... she's just like me... someone my adoptive mother told me: a monster.
Every night... she whimpers in her sleep. Her mumbles about how she was nothing and cold... especially this night. It got worse. A couple of kids came down and spotted her, inviting her to play with them. But... she said no with a cold tone... I watched them. They laughed at her... began to throw things at her... saying she wasn't normal. For a second, she snapped.
Her sweet, innocent self snapped and she turned into a cold person she tried to hide. She grabbed rocks and threw it at them... she screamed with anger and fierce as a tiger. I smiled... my daughter...
But they called her the one thing that haunted me: a monster.
Now... she's crying in her bed... Levi tried comforting her... but he was no luck.
"Can you try talking to her?" He asks, looking up to me with sorrow. "I know... that... she's just like you... but she needs a mom. She needs someone who knows her. I know you hate bringing that topic up... but Raven has the same condition as you. Please..."
I nodded, walking inside the room. She decorated it with drawings pinned on the walls. Her toys were scattered, but with Levi, it was put away all neat. Her muffled crying continued and she laid still in her bed. With a heavy sigh, I sat next to her, combing her hair with my fingers.
"There there..." I say, leaning down and kissing her cheek. "Sweetie... I know what they said... and it's not true..."
She sniffs, turning towards me. Her once-beautiful gray eyes were now stained with red. "M-Mommy... they called me... a monster... because I wasn't normal..."
"Raven... I know... and listen to me... when I was a kid, that happened to me too."
"O-Other kids called you a monster?"
I nodded, nuzzling her. "Yes... they have. They called me a monster. My adoptive mother called me a monster as well. Even my adoptive father left me. And... I was left all alone. But... you have me. You're not a monster, Raven. You're... perfect. No matter what, you are not a monster. You're my daughter. You're Daddy's girl... you're a Zoe... as well as an Ackerman. Bear our name well... and our blood." I smirked as I held Raven closely.
"W-What does that mean, Mommy?"
"It means... that... be proud to be who you are. But keep it hidden. I know how hard it is... but Raven, you're just like me. Don't play by the rules... play by your own rules..."
Raven nods softly, yawning and her tears began to dry up. "O-Okay, M-Mommy..."
I wiped them away and smiled softly. "You truly are my daughter..."
