Chapter 10: Escaping

To keep me calm throughout the night, Levi decided to crawl into bed with me. Oh... how his strong arms held me in place and keeping me secure... it felt... amazing. I sighed softly, leaning my head into his chest and embracing his warmth. My fingers wrapped around his sleeve, and I gripped onto it.

"Something wrong?" Levi asked as he groaned. "Hanji..."

I continued to grip onto his sleeve, sighing softly. "Nothing... I just... glad I have you. And I can't sleep. My nerves... too jumbled up."

He began to move and my heart skipped a few beats. At first, I thought he was gonna leave me... but I saw he was just moving to adjust himself. "Hanji... do you want to move now? We can go now, if you want."

"T-Together?"

Levi began to nod and his eyes sparked a bit. "Yes, together, Hanji."

I nod, "Let's go then..."

I sigh softly as I watched Levi drive me away from this terrible town... and we had to change identities. Levi... he was quite excited to finally comb my messy hair and to do some changes about it. He brushed it and cut half of my hair to my shoulders. My heart stopped as he left the house to find some hair dye. But, I came back to normal and he began to change my hair. From dark brown, he bleached parts of it, and then dyed it black. He did something similar, but dyed parts of his hair red.

After all that, he helped pack suitcases for the both of us and packed it into a car. According to Levi, we had to switch the plates to forged ones... and I didn't mind. I just helped to find extra change around the house and to pull money out of my account. Levi wanted to handle everything... and I worried about everything. I didn't want Levi to tell anyone that we were leaving together... but if he wasn't... I didn't want to hurt his feelings and force him away.

Was he true to his words? I hoped he was. 

"We're ready." He says, walking up to me- exhausted as hell. "Get in the car."

I nodded, going into the car. My hands grew sweaty with every passing minute when Levi wasn't by my side. But, he finally came and he began to drive the car away. Oh... how lovely it was with just me and Levi... forevermore...
