Chapter 17: Time

Levi's POV

I watched the time pass by... and I kept thinking of Hanji and Raven. I swear... I couldn't bear the thought of what they were doing to Hanji. I overheard about how they put Hanji into an institution for some kind of disease... and how my baby... she was somewhere else. Raven was under the care of someone else...

"Ackerman!" I looked up to a guard, knocking me out of my thoughts. "Get up. Someone wants to talk to you."

I grunted and walking over. I would've ended up here any other way because I would've protected Hanji. I didn't mind having my name wiped in the dirt as a murderer... but Hanji... I know what she did wasn't right... but she doesn't deserved to be kept as a subject. And Raven... my beloved bird...

"What is it this time?" I asked as they began to escort me out. "A fan? A loved one? What?"

The guard remained silent.

I then entered interrogation room, forced to sit on the steel chair. The handcuffs rattled as I looked at the mirror, knowing it was really a window. Then, the officer who had my baby walked in. He tossed a file on the table and took a seat.

Me being me, I smirked. "What's this, sir? Something about my baby?"

"This is about the murders back at your hometown, Rosen Springs. The so-called suicide of Petra Ral, the murder suicide of Nifa and Rico, and then, the final murder... Nanaba. 4 girls that you have your hands stained with blood. All for what? For Hanji Zoe?"

"I would do anything to keep her safe."

"Safe? She had to be hospitalized because-"

"Of her sickness?!" I growled, pushing the steel table towards him. Anger burned my skin. "If she was hospitalized, you would've used her as a test subject! I would never had known her. Get her out of there."

He simply shook his head. "I'm afraid not. She tested positive for the disease, and we have to-"

"Experiment on her... like she's a mouse in your lab. Stop chaining her like that. She's a human being too."

Once more, the officer sighed heavily. "Mr. Ackerman-"

"My name is Levi."

"Levi, she's a monster." His eyes narrowed down. "And you're protecting a monster."

"Is it bad to protect a loved one? You ruined it all. I wanted her as my wife. I was gonna propose... but you went off and took our baby... and took her away from me. Speaking of my baby... where is she?"

"Safe."

My hands slammed onto the table, growling. "I want to see my daughter. I want to see my love. Now."

The officer then leaned forward, smiling. "Your daughter, Raven, didn't deserve to be raised by monsters like you. She deserved to have a normal life- a normal childhood... unlike the kind of childhood she would've had if you raised her."

"Where is she?" I continued to growl, wanting to know if she was safe.

"She's safe, and that's all you need to know." His eyes narrowed and he opened the file. "Tell me... why did you kill these women?"

"Why? Because I wanted to protect my lover."
