Winter signed the last line of paper, eyes empty and energy drained. The contract was renewed, but things weren't going well at the moment.

"You can tell father that if he comes to the base again..." The woman started, holding back her emotions. "I'll kill him myself."

"I'll let him know." Weiss whispered, eyes still slightly red from crying earlier on.

———

"Weiss? Weiss, what's wrong?"

The ivory haired girl looked up at her sister, the only person she knew she'd be safe with, before bursting into tears.

Winter ran to the other side of the table and wrapped an arm around her sister. "Please, breath. Breath, then talk to me."

"I-I-I broke~" The words caught in her throat, like throwing up glass.

The woman held Weiss against her shoulder. "Shhhhh, it's ok, just quiet down and breath."

She helped her sister onto her feet, guiding them off towards the office of Corporal Schnee. She sat Weiss down in one of the surprising soft chairs, then ran off to bring a bottle of water back.

"Weiss?" She prompted, holding the water. "Do you need anything?"

The girl shook her head, looking at the perfect shining floor. "I hate myself so much..."

"What happened? I don't understand."

"I... I broke up with her..."

Winter covered her mouth for a moment, realizing quickly what she was talking about. "Why..? What happened, you seemed so happy..."

"I was..."

"Then what happened?" She questioned, giving Weiss' shoulder a gentle squeeze.

Weiss shook her head, struggling to focus. "I-I just... Work. I don't have enough experience for a serious relationship and work and~"

"You're a bad liar."

"I'm not lying!" Weiss snapped.

Winter crossed her arms, but relaxed a moment after. "What happened?"

Both sat in silence, the air tense and yet unmoved. Weiss didn't want to speak and Winter knew she didn't have to.

"I... I had to protect her..."

Winter took her sister's hand and squeezed, prompting her to keep going.

"H-he was going to destroy her The Cookies... He was going to take away everything she had..." The girl continued. "I-I agreed to come back... I couldn't let him hurt her like that..."

Winter went stiff after Weiss finished talking. "Father did this..?"

The girl didn't answer.

"Do you actually expect me to work with that monster?" She questioned, voice set like concrete. "How can you force yourself to do this?"

"Because it's not for me..." Weiss whispered, voice cracking.

Winter waited a moment.

"Why not run away together? Somewhere he can't get you?"

"You know he can reach me anywhere, Winter." She replied, wiping her tears away. "And I could never ask her to do that. She'd lose everything she's ever loved."

The corporal stood up quickly, beginning to pace around the room, to the point were she probably would've burned a path in the wood given enough time.

"Can we just look at the papers..?"

Winter whipped around, glaring viciously. Can we look at the papers? No, we can not!"

The familiar firm and stern energy that Weiss knew was coming to her sister again.

"I refuse to work with him, and I already have contract meetings headed with three other companies! Why should I even look at that one?"

"Please, just..." Weiss' voice was ready to shatter. "Please just look at them. Then I can say I tried."

Winter narrowed her eyes. "You mean so you can tell father you tried."

"Yes..."

"Of course he had to do this." The woman growled. "He can't just let go."

"Please, Winter..."

Weiss' older sister glared for just a moment before she turned away and clenching her fists, nails digging into her palms.

———

"You need anything, you come to me."

Weiss nodded as she walked back up to the plane. "I will..."

"He tries anything, you tell me." Winter told her, gripping Weiss' shoulders tightly.

The girl nodded, looking down at the concrete.

Winter waiting for a moment, pulling her sister into one last hug. "I'm gonna miss you."

"I-I'll miss you too..."

The two departed and Weiss got into her seat before the negotiator sat down across from her, glaring.

"Did you have something to do with me not even being in the meeting?" She questioned with a huff.

The ivory haired woman smiled to herself, shaking her head. "No, I didn't have anything to do with that. But I did get the contract signed."

The woman, still looking like the stereotypical office girl, narrowed her eyes before walking away to sit somewhere else on the plane. Weiss rolled her eyes and pulled out her phone freezing as she looked down at the wallpaper on her home screen.

A short girl with a massive perfect smile was laying on Weiss' lap, looking up at the camera with a look of love in her eyes.
