The two girls stood, neither moving an inch as a stillness curtained the room and hall.
The sound of Jaune pushing everyone out of the area and into Ruby's bedroom broke the silence and caught both of their attention. The bedroom door shut, leaving the two woman to themselves.
The pair both smiled and each let out a light laugh at their friends in the other room. And then it was quiet again. But this was a different quiet.
This was the quiet that said I've missed you. This was the silence that screamed You're everything to me. This was the sound of a beating heart, whispering I love you to whoever was part of it.
"It's... It's been awhile." Ruby finally said.
Weiss smiled at the floor. "Yeah... Too long."
They both made their way to the couch without a word, each sitting down next to each other, remembering back to another day.
"Still can't believe that you hadn't seen Die Hard until watching with me." Ruby laughed, peeking at Weiss out of the corner of her eye.
The woman was smiling as she thought back. "I can't believe that anyone bought our awful excuses whenever they caught me half naked."
"They didn't." Ruby clarified with a chuckle. "They're just really nice. Really good friends."
"Yeah..."
The brunette turned towards Weiss, the tips of her hair completely faded from the red she usually puts in. She opened her mouth to speak, but stopped herself again. Then smiled.
"That's a beautiful dress." She whispered, reaching forward to feel the fabric.
The ivory haired woman shook her head. "You shouldn't be seeing this."
"Why not?"
Weiss looked away, back towards the door. A feeling of fear flooded Ruby's veins and she tried to pull her hand away, but a gentle grip caught her wrist.
"Because it's bad luck to see it before the wedding."
Neither spoke at all, each thinking about the words that the woman just said. The implications each of them carried.
"I mean, it's a wonderful dress." Weiss finally continued. "I'd hate for it to go to waste before I got the chance to marry the woman I love."
"Then I guess you'll have to stick around, right?" Ruby asked, a fond expression of affection in her eye. "I mean, unless you've got more game than I gave you credit for."
"I don't know, there's with cut girl I know." The woman giggled. "I think her name was Nora?"
They both broke down into laughter, feeling more at ease and in love than they had in weeks. The kiss they shared was soft, gentle, and didn't last nearly long enough when they finally moved away.
"Let's get you into something more comfortable so I don't see the dress anymore." Ruby suggested, receiving a nod from her love.

The group sat on the couch, just talking, finally realizing how good it felt to just sit together. Weiss was wearing red pajamas and white shirt, hand rest atop Ruby's, Jaune and Nora laughing at some stupid jokes they shared, all while Ren and Yang made food for them all.
The door opened, Blake walking in looking exhausted but satisfied. She looked up and smiled at seeing Weiss and how comfortable everyone looked.
"Well... I got it done." She told them, walking over and leaning against the couch.
Weiss looked up in confusion, turning to her girlfriend, who looked extremely excited as Blake pulled out a paper.
"Here's a copy of the deed." The raven haired woman said, handing it to the barista. "The paperwork just went through. The entire building is under my name now beside your cafe."
Weiss' eyes shot open as she stood up. "You... You bought the building..?"
"Well I couldn't let my best friend lose her second favorite thing in the world." Blake laughed. "Couldn't let some bitter old man tear it all down."
The ivory woman was shaking, unsure of what to do as tears started falling down her face. She threw her arms around Blake, crushing her against her.
"Thank you..." She whispered, quietly crying as she hugged the girl. "That... That means the world to me..."
Blake was a little shocked, but slowly hugged her back. "Hey, it's... it's alright. It's over now."
"It's really over, isn't it?" Ruby asked from where she was sitting. "Damn... It... It feels like forever since we were back at the cabin, just realizing what was out there."
"Gay." Yang called from the kitchen.
Blake smirked over at her. "Love you too babe."
The blonde laughed and got back to work, Blake instantly getting concerned at her actions.
"Put down that knife before you cut off your other hand!" She snapped as she stormed over. "Let me do this."
Ruby and Weiss turned to each other and giggled before they stopped and just looked at each other. They smiled, each leaning forward and pressing together for a gentle kiss, staying for longer than before and holding each other close.
For the rest of the night the pair thought about the future to come and the many, many adventures they would be on.
