"Did you ever care..?" She whispered weakly.

The room was dead silent for the next minute. Not a soul dared to move. Weiss fell to the floor, face streamed with tear lines as water poured down.

"Of course I did..." She whispered, voice cracking slightly. "I love you, Ruby... I don't want to do any of this..."

"Liar..."

The elevator doors opened, a few security guards walking out to see what was happening.

"Don't you say that you care or that you don't want this..." Ruby continued as the guards picked her up. "You would've made different choices if you didn't want this..."

Security dragged her from the room, Neon following willingly, still in shock over what happened. Weiss' form went limp as she fell down, sobbing silently once the elevator closed up again.

Some of her coworkers helped her back to her office, laying her on the small couch off to the side to rest. She was left primarily alone from there, everyone half hour or so being checked up on until someone could get in touch with Neptune.

A soft knock came at the door as he opened it slowly, the wave of depression and self loathing practically pushing him over.

"Hey there, hun." He quietly smiled, closing the door behind him as he went over to Weiss. "How are you feeling?"

"Like I need a firing squad..."

"That seems a little... I don't know, extreme?" He pointed out, sitting down on the end of the couch, rubbing the woman's shoulder and squeezing it carefully.

"She hates me..." The ivory haired woman whispered, voice muffled in the cushion of the couch. "She hates me, and I'll never have her back..."

Neptune frowned, starting upset and quickly getting angry at everything around. "I'm going to kill him."

Weiss lifted her head, eyes puffy and confused. "What are you talking about?"

"I'm going to kill that pathetic old man!" He growled, fists shaking in place. "He's done nothing but tear into your life and try his best to make everyone around him miserable and I'm done with it!!"

"Neptune, don't~"

"Weiss, I'm done with his shit!!!" The bluenette roared, cutting her off.

The both opened their mouths to speak, but the phone began to ring, cutting off their argument. Weiss took in a breath and wiped away her tears for a moment to answer.

"Weiss Schnee speaking." She greeted formally, recomposed other than her eyes being read from the moment before.

The voice on the other end sounded pleased. "You finally answered how a good businesswoman should."

"Hello, father." She replied, moving past his comment. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Neptune narrowed his eyes, obvious disgust and rage in his features.

"I heard that your... friend from before showed up at the office and attacked you." He explained calmly. "I was calling to be sure that you'll still be ready for the meeting with Mr Ozpin tomorrow."

"O-Of course, sir." Weiss whispered. "When did you hear?"

"Security called me about my daughter being hit by a drunk woman inside my building." He stated matter of factly. "Your safety is important to me."

The woman nodded her head solemnly. "Of course, sir."

"Be ready for the meeting. I expect you to get his business back." Mr Schnee told her, making it clear that she didn't have a choice.

"Yes, sir."

The line cut and Weiss let out the breath she didn't know she was holding.

"Now can I kill him?" Neptune asked, completely serious in stance and attitude.

"I am inclined to have a friend of mine deal with your father at the rate he is meddling in other people's lives." Mr Ozpin stated without any indication of a joke. "He is very good at what he does."

"I would expect nothing less from someone working for you, sir." Weiss replied in an even yet empty voice.

He raised a brow, seeming interested in something she wasn't saying. "No questions? Nothing to mention? That doesn't seem like you, Miss Schnee."

"How so?"

"You always find a way to clear up problems before they begin, it's one of the traits that made me continue business with Schnee Industries." He explained, seeming almost disappointed. "Yet now you don't seem to care what's in front of you. You didn't even ask about my own statement."

"Because I already know what it is about." Weiss replied simply.

Ozpin nodded solemnly, a certain sadness to his movement. "And so direct about personal topics. That isn't like you, Weiss."

"It's best to move past it and focus on work." She gently whispered. "I have a job to do, and I plan to get it done."

"As do I, Miss Schnee." The man told her, suddenly getting down to business. "My job includes protecting the people that make our world great. Their safety, well being, and happiness, and my top priorities."

Weiss looked up at him across the table. "S-sir, could we please talk about the renewal cont~"

"No, I will not be renewing the contract." He interrupted. "I don't see the point in doing business with your father and I outright refuse to condone his behavior by renewing."

"Please sir, at least let us ta~"

"I'll renew a contract with you as CEO, and that is final." Ozpin replied, locking his hands together and resting them on the table. "Now, shall we talk about the real problems of the day?"
