Mistake

What was that supposed to mean I was a "mistake"?

My breathing quickened as a few boys came closer to me, arms ready to grab me.

"Wait, Alby! How do we know she's a threat? She just arrived! We have to know her before we jump to conclusions!" Newt said jumping in front of Alby, trying to talk some sense into him.

"Newt, what else could the note mean? And like you said, she just arrived and we know nothing about her yet!" Alby argued.

"Please! She can stay with me, I'll keep a eye on her! I promise I won't let her out of my sight!" Newt reasoned. But why would he stick up for me? He doesn't even know my name?

Alby thought for a second before making his decision.

"Alright. One night in the Slammer, then she can leave. But I'm warning you Newt, if she causes any trouble, I will personally have you both banished and thrown off the Cliff!" Alby warned, Newt sighed in relief.

Banished, thrown off the Cliff.

Those words had the harshest meaning to me so far. Where would they banish us, and how?

Two boys grabbed my arms and pulled me up, dragging me off as Newt followed.

I looked around as I was drug to the "Slammer" place they said.

We appeared to be in a big square field surrounded by massive stone walls. The stone had ivy vines patched in some spots and gaps in the direct center of the walls leading out to other corridors and places unknown to me.

Across the field, a big wooden hut sat about 3 stories high. The windows were smudged and dirty. Wooden towers, a barn and animals, along with gardens were placed in different corners of the land. A forest sat in the last corner, with big and small trees of all types.

But what caught my eye the most was a metal shack with a big heavy round handle on it. It wasn't big, but not small either. It had no windows and was sealed off completely. It didn't sit in a corner with anything else, but just in the wide open.

"Welcome to the Glade"

What Newt had said replayed over and over in my head. This was the Glade? I didn't know what to expect, but at the same time I did. But how could I possibly know? I don't even remember my own life, parents, or what I look like!

My life fell apart in a matter of hours and I have no way to fix it. Nothing is what I know and everything is gone. I just wish I could understand what was happening, but honestly nothing could truly fix this mess.

This place already felt like hell and everything was messed up. Gardens, animals, forests, metal shacks? Heck, the people here are fucking insane! Whatever world we were in is phyco and the people who put us here must be mental.
