I let my phone slip between my fingers as I fell back onto the bed. I put my hands over my eyes and smiled at the ceiling. Wednesday. I could see him again on Wednesday.

I sighed wistfully. Could I last that long? He made being me feel easy again. I hadn't felt so relaxed around people in, what? A year? Two? I forgot. 

All I could see behind my closed eyes was his smile. I wrapped my arms around myself, feeling a ghostly sensation of his strong ones around me. He was so easy to relax around and talk freely. He was all grins and jokes with a strong undercurrent of his genuine nature. He didn't put on an act like some of the other guys I had dated in my early college days. He felt so real compared to everyone. 

Piano music blared from my phone's tiny speakers, startling me from my daydreams. I groaned, the feelings fleeing like leaves before a storm. Who was calling me at this hour? I spared a glance at the caller ID before answering it. Jina. I groaned internally before pasting on a fake smile.

"Hai, sanbē?" I said in an overly cheerful voice that sounded forced even to me.

"Hata!" Her sharp tone made me wince. I clenched my teeth through the smile. Had to sound happy, happy, happy! "I told you to stop it with the Japanese, Halfie! When we are in Korea, we speak Korean!"
