Chapter Eight:

Hazel leaned against the glass wall of the main floor at Headquarters, waiting for Rocket and Nebula to arrive with their ship. She had no idea where they had gone to and nobody was interested in telling her, all Natasha said was that Hazel was going with them along with Bruce to find Thor and bring him back here. She hadn't seen that man since he decapitated Thanos in space, while she was in the middle of having a breakdown. Hazel had asked why they wanted her coming, and apparently she was one of Thor's favourite 'little' people and that maybe if things went south, she could get him back here either way.

Wind picked up outside, she could hear it howling against the glass. Hazel felt for the weapons tucked in various places along her pants before rushing out, only to be showered with taco toppings.

Scott sat on one of the stone benches, staring empty handed as a giant ship landed in the yard. Rocket and Nebula appeared when it did, the robot waltzing down from it towards the building.

"Hey, Humie! Where's the big guy?" Rocket yelled.

Scott pursed his lips, staring with wide eyes. "The kitchen, I think."

Nebula watched the man as she walked by, "Rhodey." She spoke into a comm, "Careful on re-entry, there's an idiot in the landing zone."

Hazel couldn't help but snicker as she approached, Nebula raised a hand and Hazel gave her a high five. She could've sworn the other women gave a smile as she disappeared inside.

Metal landed hard on the concrete which sent Scott throwing his taco shell and grabbing his chest, Hazel only snorted and turned to see Rhodey in his war machine suit.

"What's up, regular sized man?" He asked, he glanced at Hazel and gave a wave.

Bruce made his way from the building, carrying what looked like four tacos in his hand, cuddled with wrapping. He walked past Scott, only to stop and place two of his four tacos in the man's hands with a smile before continuing his way towards the ship. Hazel raced up and stood in front of Scott, "You seem like a nice guy."

He looked up at her, eyes squinting against the sun. "I'd like to think I am."

"I'm Hazel Barnes." She held out a hand, he took it wearily and they shook. "I'm Scott Lang." He told her.

She flashed a smile at him, "I'm very sorry." She said plucking a taco from his hand, "But I'm quite hungry."

The girl turned and raced on board, and was greeted by Rocket who snatched the food item from her and shoved it in his mouth. He shrugged, "For the last time I don't eat garbage. I like real food. I love real food."

Hazel made her way over to her seat and flopped down, strapping herself in for the ride. "I thought Asgard was destroyed."

Bruce leaned back at the front, his voice carrying. "It was. The Asgardians set up a place for themselves on earth."

"So then why don't we just take a regular plane and not a giant space ship?"

Rocket turned to face her from where he sat, "This is my pride and joy. I ain't letting it out of my sight if I don't got to."

He clicked a button and the door slowly closed with a loud hiss.

"Hold on." Bruce said, "It shouldn't take long for us to arrive in New Asgard."

"New Asgard?"

The big guy sighed, "Please don't question it."

She never did again, and they took off.

New Asgard was quite beautiful, but it smelt like fish and fish was something Hazel couldn't stand. She sat in the back of a pickup truck with Bruce, his large body taking up most of the space even with his knees tucked up to his chest. They drove down winding streets, Rocket complaining from his spot in Bruce's lap.
