Chapter Thirteen:

They were all standing in the alley way still, even when reality dawned on them and Tony began pacing back and fourth.

"We have a problem."

"Uh, yeah. We do." Scott huffed.

"Well what are we supposed to do now?" Steve asked.

Hazel pursed her lips, not knowing what to say. She had no idea what they were supposed to do now, considering their only mission was to retrieve both parts of the stone.

"You said that we had one shot! This, was our one shot." Scott began to pace while Tony stopped. "We shot it. It's shot! Six stones or nothing. Six stones or nothing!"

"You're repeating yourself, you know that! You're repeating yourself." Tony glared at him.

"You're repeating yourself."

"No—"

"You're repeating yourself. You're repeating yourself." Scott bickered, "No! You never wanted a Time Heist, you went on board with the Time Heist..."

"I dropped the ball."

"You ruined the Time Heist!"

"Is that what I did?"

"Yeah—"

Hazel huffed, rubbing her eyes. She pointed to the imaginary watch on her wrist, "Time schedule!"

Steve sighed, "Are there any other options with the Tesseract?"

"No, no, no, there are no other options! There are no do-overs. We're not going anywhere else. We have one particle left. Each." Scott kicked at a rock on the ground. "That's it, alright. We use that... bye bye. We're not going home."

"Yeah, well if we don't try... then no one else is going home, either." Steve raised his voice. Tony's focus landed on Steve, and a light bulb seemed to click.

"I got it!" Tony declared, walking up to Steve. "There's another way. To retake the Tesseract and acquire new particles. We'll stroll down memory lane. Military Installation, Garden State."

Steve frowned, looking away. As if he was refusing to believe what the other man was saying. Eventually he made eye contact, "When were they both there?"

"They were there at a... I've a vaguely exact idea."

"How vague?"

Hazel inched closer to them, wanting to be apart of the conversion. "What are you guys talking about?"

"I know for a fact that they were there..."

"Who's they?" Scott stood beside her, "Where are we going?"

"...And I know how I know." Tony finished. Steve sighed and looked around, both Hazel and Scott shared an annoyed look.

"Guys, what's going on? What is it?" Scott asked.

Steve shook his head, "Well, it looks like we're improvising." He tossed the sceptre between both hands before handing it to Scott, "Get this back to the compound."

"We're going to New Jersey."

"What's in New Jersey?" Scott questioned.

Hazel rushed up towards Steve and Tony, "I'm coming with you, right?"

They shared a look, "I don't know."

"Hey!" She crosses her arms, "If it's to where I think it is, I want to come. I've heard so much stuff about it, and plus I love history."
