Chapter Eleven:

It turned out, Hazel had time to have a nap. And she had a great one, a dreamless, deep sleep and then the next thing she knew hands were shaking her awake.

"We got a plan!"

Hazel's eyes flew open, she threw herself off her bed and stumbled over sheets. She looked up to see Natasha smiling at her, holding her up from flopping onto the floor.

"Took you guys a bit."

Hazel righted herself and followed the women out of her room. They walked back down the stairs, "Yeah, well, Thor was really invested in his own story."

They walked back into the board room, where food cartons littered the tables. She frowned, "Ate without me?"

Steve came out of nowhere, making Hazel jump. He had a serious expression on his face while everyone else watched him carefully.

"All right. We have a plan." He said, the screens of the computer all flashed on again, showing the six stones. "Six stones, three teams, one shot."

Hazel nodded along, looking at the group of people behind him. They didn't have the whole team, obviously, but it would work. They were going to get everyone back, Hazel could feel it.

Tony clapped his hands together, "Everyone has a time travel suit in the other room. Let's get at it and meet in the landing zone when you're done!"

Hazel followed the group into the other room, where each person had an identical suit laid out for them with their names written on sticky notes.

"It goes over what you're wearing now." Tony added, "And comes off when you no longer need it."

Hazel took hers and left the group, finding the nearest bathroom where she flipped the suit on. Getting it on was quite easy, getting up zipped up and fitted was the real struggle. It look 5 minutes, and when she stumbled from the room everyone else was walking out of the board room and towards the landing zone. She scrambled to join them, trailing behind as they walked in an odd formation.

"Five years ago we lost." Steve voice floated in the air, determination laced within it. "We lost friends... we lost family... we lost apart of ourselves. Today we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back."

Hazel pursed her lips as they got onto the platform, thinking maybe she should've stayed for the rest of Thor's story.

Steve looked at each person, "One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know, but it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful, look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we are going to win."

Tony raised a brow at the other man, but Steve only nodded. "Whatever it takes. Good luck."

Rocket was staring up at Steve, then he turned to Scott, "He's pretty good at that."

Scott grinned and shook his head, pointing at Steve he agreed. "I know, right."

Hazel sighed, then Tony walked over to her and handed her a bracelet looking thing. He strapped it onto her palm, "You're coming with me, Steve, Scott and Bruce. This has the coordinates logged into it, when we say go press it twice and you should be good."

Tony gave her a wink and pointed to where she would stand, he turned on his heel and walked over to his own spot. "All right. You heard the man. Stroke those keys jelly green."

"Really, Tony?" Hazel chuckled, and the man replied with a shrug.

"Tractors engaged." Bruce said.

Natasha bounced on her heels, a grin on her face. "See you in a minute."

Steve smiled at her, then moved his attention to the centre of the platform where the metal began moving. Soon helmets were clicking into place over their heads, and Hazel flinched when hers latched together. Something overhead fluttered down and the ground jerked beneath them.

"Double tap now, Hazel!" Tony's voice called out.

Hazel followed his instructions, and just as her hand met the bracelet a second time the floor beneath them disappeared and they all fell through. She held her breath as they fell, at first all together and then some separated. Hazel suit turned left, following three figures. The world around her was bright and then dark and then she lost sight of her companions before she landed on something hard with a thud.

Hazel was laying on the ground, she pulled herself up and looked around. They apparently were supposed to be in New York, but they were surrounded by destroyed buildings and some fires. The white suit disappeared, and she was left in the suit Tony had given her the night before.

"All right, we all have our assignments. Two stones uptown, one stone down. Stay low, keep an eye on the clock." Steve said walking the entrance of the alley they seemed to be in. Metal crashed on metal and they all spun to see  the Hulk land in front of an alien creature, he grabbed a car and crushed it to death.

Hazel remembered this day, it was the year 2012 and she had been locked in the basement with her foster family. Her foster dad had told them it was to be more safe down there, even though they were a good distance from danger. At that time, Hazel thought The Avengers were stupid, and never fought for the little people and what not. She had been very wrong.

The Hulk growled and chucked a tire, he jumped onto the car and bounced up and down with a scream before running off angrily. They all turned to Bruce who was hiding behind a hand, Steve shrugged a shoulder, "Maybe smash a few things along the way."

"I think it's gratuitous." Bruce grumbled ripping his shirt off, "But whatever."

He walked out and let out a quiet growl like noise, he flexed his arms and then lightly punched a nearby car. He picked up a motorcycle and tossed it out of the way, raising his hands and growling again.

Steve sighed, "Tony, Hazel, Scott. Let's go."

Hazel had no complaints, and nobody else did either. They all followed out behind Steve, going where, Hazel had no idea.
