Huma is an ugly league of her own when it comes to dealing with her purported family. She's repeatedly lied to me and Emre about Baba. She's tried to manipulate all the men in her life via unsavory means and methods. Now she's the leading causing of stress for Baba, yet again, and she can't be the reason I lose both my parents.Baba wants to marry Mihriban, and that, Huma would not have, at all! She's started a legal case by claiming that he's still married to her and won't divorce him. That is the utmost lie she's ever told and all to prevent him from being happy! So Emre drives me over to her house. I decide to give her a piece of my mind, and if nothing works, we're going to tell her to leave Baba the fuck alone or we will all cut ties with her, forever!
As we arrive, we notice that Yigit is also there with her. Strange, but what's he doing here with her? She lets us in and Emre is trying to reason with her while I stand back and observe her reactions. Yigit is a passive observer as she doesn't ask him to leave. Is he her proxy son now? Whatever.... she's found another man to manipulate, I'm sure.
Emre and Huma are sparring with each other and this is the first time I've seen my little brother really being harsh with her. He's always been the son who has tolerated her and actually loved her in spite of her evils. Huma is apoplectic with anger, losing control and throwing things..... and I see a bit of myself in her reactions. WOW... was I that bad? In her case, it's not love that is making her misbehave this way.... but actually a lack of it! That is a quite a revelation to me and I'm understanding a bit more of how I behaved. It's not all Huma's fault and I have to take responsibility for my actions.... but I can see how her nature is also in my genes!
"Do the right thing for your Baba? " .... she's yelling ... "What about me? He's wronged me his whole life and now I'm alone and helpless!"
"Caan, you're very quiet. Your brother is abusing me so badly to my face.... and yet you remain quiet. How can you remain quiet at this atrocity and language that Emre is treating me to?" ..... she pulls me into the confrontation.
"Emre is not saying anything disrespectful to you".... I tell her.... "He's conveying what I want to convey to you as well". I pause and her face turns into that of a fire breathing dragon!
"You... you... you are ganging up on me now... Caan?" .... "Yok artık!" .... she fumes.
Before I can respond she continues thusly ... "You couldn't keep the relationship even with that mahalle-girl Sanem and she dumped you" ...... "and then promptly hooked up with Yigit!" .... she says triumphant and with a sneer!
OH.MY.GOD!
I've broken up with Sanem twice in the past. But how does Huma know that Sanem was the one that broke up with me this time? Only Sanem and I knew that she was the one that broke up with me and I'm certain she's not sharing stories with Huma! I left because she didn't trust me and I surmised that she didn't want to be with me. But everyone is angry with me because I left.... and nobody knows that I was the one that was totally and utterly rejected.
Again, how does Huma know this?? Was she spying on us on that fateful day? I instinctively look at Yigit and he looks a bit stressed that the conversation had turned to him. For the first time, I notice that Yigit's not using his walking stick and seems to be standing upright and well, on his own two legs!
"Where's your walking stick Yigit?" .... I ask loudly, distracting us all, including Huma and Emre. Yigit turns ashen and starts to walk backwards, very comfortably and with total balance away from me. Caught in a lie, he stumbles a bit and then runs, runs, I mean like a rat leaving a sinking ship, away from us and out the door in a heartbeat!
