Author's Note: I wrote this story for that one scene from the EK 46 trailer! Can Divit's sleeping troubles and her offer broke and then healed my heart in about 30 seconds! This is where my love, empathy and connection to Can Divit originates and I absolutely cherish, coddle and cosset him!

"A man growing old becomes a child again" - Sophocles

=----=----=----=----=----=----=----=

As long and as far as I can remember, I've never slept with anyone! That is not a metaphor for sex but sleep, actual sleep, as I've never had that experience of sharing my bed or personal space.

Even as a child, I can't remember waking up in the same bed as Baba and Huma, let alone with Baba or Huma!  I had roommates in boarding school and college, but that is sharing a room, not so much a bed. A bed to me is such an intimate space where one can't escape, forget or ignore what one is feeling!

How would I feel experiencing someone breathing that close to me?

How would I feel at their essence invading my nostrils?

How would I feel at the sounds they make while asleep?

Would I feel the pleasure or pain at the weight of their body on me?

Would I be the hugger or the hugged?

Would I be that comfortable with someone or anyone for that matter?

....

And then Sanem happened to me, completely unexpected, unplanned and unpremeditated. She just showed up at camp when I clearly wanted to be alone, turning my life and night upside down, inside out and altered everything permanently!

We were outdoors in my natural zone and it's very clear to me that she has not spent a night outdoors. I'm glad she's tucked safely into the sleeping bag and I totally revel at her overture of asking me to share the jacket-headrest with her.
