"It's been four days," Iris says, hovering her body over the desk. She takes a sip of her coffee and sets the mug back down, licking her lips. "And... nothing." She rolls the latter half of her sentence slowly, trailing the words with caution.

Barry sighed. He was sitting on the desk chair near her, with his eyes looming towards the Med Bay, keeping watch of Oliver and Kara. Nothing, Iris had said.

Nothing.

There was no change ever since Killer Frost had frozen Kara's entire body and since the team had left Oliver alone with her. Caitlin was the only one that dared to walk in, being as she's the only one with medical experience despite what they're doing being far from fucking medicine. She's the doctor, so of course she's compelled to check on her patient.

To Oliver, her patient was Kara Danvers. To her, her patient was Supergirl. Being a member of Team Flash and being a superhero herself, she knew Supergirl- not Kara.

Supergirl.

Much to the team's surprise, whenever Caitlin had gone inside the room for her daily check in, Oliver didn't snap at her like he had previously before. In fact, he was kind as much as he was observant.

However, that didn't change how hard this must have been for him... and no one actually knew what was going on inside his head. They were too afraid to ask.

Barry draws his eyes away for a moment to meet with Iris' eyes. He wraps his palm around his mug, raising it to his mouth, and forces coffee down his throat before speaking. It was odd not having the diet or metabolism of a speedster, or having the luxury of super speed. He actually had to watch what he ate, balance it, and had lost a large portion of his appetite- accustoming to a regular human's eating capabilities, which he hadn't been familiar with for the past four years. The only upside was not being hungry all the damn time, but really, how could he be hungry at a time like this?

Clearing his throat, Barry begins, "I can't do it, Iris. I can't tell him that she isn't going to wake up." He sniffles his nose. "He hasn't stepped out of that room- not even once. How can I look him in the eye and tell him that the woman he loves is dead?"

Barry's voice being filled with guilt and his eyes being filled with tears drew sympathy out of Iris. She walks towards him and carefully kneels. "It doesn't have to be you." She whispers softly.

"But it does. I'm the only one who really knows him," Barry explains. "I just, I really wanted her to wake up." His lips began to tremble while a tear fell free. The guilt had been eating away at him ever since that night: Kara died so that he could live.

She was the hero. Not him.

Barry's eyes fall back on Oliver, who was currently sleeping on a cot next to her bed. "I'm the reason she's dead." He lowers his head, burying his face onto the both of his hands as his elbows lay over his thighs. A quiet sob roamed out of him.

"Hey, hey, hey," Iris mutters. She tugged on Barry's arms, forcing him to take his face out of his hands to look at her. "This isn't your fault, Bear. She's a superhero, just like you. She would've done it either way- just like you."

"I'm not a superhero anymore." Barry corrects her, biting the corner of his lip. Ever since he lost his powers, The Flash has been absent from Central City. So was the Green Arrow from Star City... and so was Supergirl from National City.

It was now up to Elongated Man, Vibe, and Killer Frost to be the heroes the world needed.

"Look, Caitlin is still running tests. We'll figure this out. We always do." Iris notices Barry was looking over at Oliver instead of her. Seeing him in so much pain was devastating for her. On top of believing he's the reason the woman Oliver has a 'thing' with and who is National City's hero is dead, he lost his connection to the Speedforce and his powers. She wanted to do whatever she could to make things better for him. "Give it more time," she suggests. "She'll wake up. She has to." She wipes a tear off Barry's cheek, offering him a small smile.
