Summer Heat

One Void Day, Count Bleck stood outside, looking into the bright sky. It was a blazingly hot afternoon in the Void, because it was summer. Though it was technically dark and there was no sun, it was still blindingly hot and bright to the average Void-goer. Which was pretty much only the residents of Castle Bleck.

Mimi bounded outside, took one look at the sky, and bounded back inside. "I'M DYING!!" she screeched. "OVEREXPOSURE TO THE VOID!!"

Mr. L had been standing, silently surmising the yard, watching, and waiting the whole time however. "You were only out there for..." he checked his watch. "0.7 seconds."

"Yes, and it was far too much," Mimi replied.

"Well, it was reckless to run out there anyway," said Dimentio, who had appeared suddenly. He too was waiting for a cooler opportunity to go outside. Though on an ordinary day they all would've probably hung around inside. It was just the irony of life. "Mr. L has the right idea," Dimentio continued, though it visibly pained him to compliment Mr. L, or even appear to take his side.

"Thank you, Dimentioo!" Mr. L chimed with smugness. Dimentio turned away and tried not to barf.

O'Chunks lumbered up. "SUMMMUURRR!!" he yelled and charged outside. The three minions watched as he frolicked around, bumped into the tree, fell on his face, and eventually combusted into flames.

"AAHHH!! TOO HAAWWT!!" he yelled and ran all over the place until he made it to the hose and sprayed himself. Just as he was drenched and relatively cool, the Void shifted and it became darker. The light breeze made O'Chunks feel like ice in the shade. So while the other minions ran outside and frolicked, fell on their faces, and beat each other up, O'Chunks waddled inside while freezing.

"The elements sure work strangely around here, hm, Count?" asked Nastasia, standing on a high balcony off the side of the Castle. She and Count Bleck were watching the ridiculous hobos below while under the shade of an umbrella. Beach chairs sat nearby as well as a cooler full of Sprite.

"Yes, Nastasia, indeed. It would seem as if they purposely decide to torture somebody every day...most interesting!!" chortled the Count. "Well, anyway, let's relax, suggested Count Bleck. The minions won't find us up here!!" he flopped on a beach chair, grabbed a Sprite, and tipped down his top hat so he could sleep. Nastasia smiled evilly at her lucky predicament and looked down at the minions, who soon screamed and ran in terror when the brightness returned. It didn't affect them at all under the umbrella, though.

After a long while of relaxing, Dimentio suddenly appeared right in front of them. His ring of clearness floating over them woke them up with a start. Seeing Dimentio's face gave them a bigger start.

"WHAT, ARE YOU TWO, DOING?!?!" he yelled.

"Dimentio!! We're relaxing like adults!! Now go play like a child!" Nastasia shouted.

Dimentio looked hurt. "After all this time, and all the schemes and similes and conjuring I've done, I can't believe you still look at me as immature. Fine!! I'll prove my manliness! I'm watching Deadpool!!"

Mr. L's hand grabbed into the railing of the balcony. Apparently he had been scaling the castle the entire time. "NOOO!" he cried, grabbing Dimentio's [nonexistent] ankle. "No one's ever ready for Deadpool!! Only tears and scars on your mind will it bring you!!" then he dramatically dropped from sight, quite suddenly.

Then Mimi appeared. Nastasia sighed. She and the Count could never get any privacy.

"So, this is what it's come to, huh?" she asked, eyeing the Sprites in the cooler.

"I don't need to explain this again. How did you all even find us??" Nastasia asked.

"We could SEE you on this balcony sticking out on the front of the castle!! It's a sore thumb!!" Dimentio said matter-of-factly.

Count Bleck, who had been silent all this time, said, "...Well, sometimes even Nastasia can be dumb."
