>Emily's POV<

I walked and walked putting one foot in front of the other when I heard chanting and laughter. I looked up to see a huge skate park. It was like heaven. I watched as a girl with long wavy black hair went up from the half pipe, did two front flips, and came back down. She was good. I remembered having a skateboard but almost never used it since it rained just about everyday where we used to live. I watched her for what seemed like hours until she finally stopped. Most people began to leave but I didn't. She walked up to me and smiled.

"You didn't get burned up out here in the sun?"

I looked down at what I was wearing: pants and a hoodie. I looked back up and shrugged. She laughed a bit.

"I'm Katie"

"Emily"

"Nice to meet you Emily. You like to skateboard?"

I nodded.

"You go really fast"

She smiled.

"Can you teach me?"

"Sure"

With that, she walked away. I watched some of the other people for a while before heading back home. I went into the house and up to my bedroom in search of my skateboard. I knew I brought it, but I couldn't remember where I put it. I searched my room frantically but it was nowhere to be seen. I finally slide down the wall and buried my face in my hands. I looked up at the ceiling when I caught a glimpse of something shining by the moonlight. I crawled to my bed and looked under it, sure enough something was shining. I grabbed it and pulled it out. I gasped and facepalmed myself as I drug my skateboard out from under my bed.

*Guess what I just found*

*A freak tornado?*

*No. My skateboard*

*Man! You finally found that thing?!*

*I just moved here....*

*Have you even gotten back on it yet?*

*No, but I'm about to*

I locked my phone and put it in my back pocket. I grabbed my skateboard and headed down the stairs. I haven't been on it in forever, and this was the time I was going to get on it. I headed out the door and down the steps. The wind began blowing and a chill was sent up my spine. I shivered looking around. No one was outside, and not even the cold feeling inside me would stop me. I dropped my skateboard onto the ground and pushed off.

The wind through my hair felt great, even the wind that was blowing off the shore. I felt like a storm was coming, but I kept pushing on. I felt free. I felt great. I felt alive. Then another cold chill was sent up my spine and my head began pounding. I fell off my skateboard feeling dizzy as I tried pushing myself up from the ground. The wind began to howl and I felt hands around my waist putting distance between me and the brick. I couldn't feel the pain but I knew there had to be bruises and scratches.

"Hello? Hello?"

I heard a voice, but my head was spinning and I couldn't concentrate. I squeezed my eyes shut and held my head. The pounding wouldn't stop. I could still hear the voice and soon the hands began to grip harder and shake me.

"Hey!! Answer me!!"

The pounding went away and I opened my eyes. A boy was crouched in front of me holding me steady and yelling something at me. I looked past him at the ocean. The wind was blowing leaves everywhere and the sky was darker than when I left. I looked down at my knees and hands; they were covered in blood. The boy shook me again and I looked at him.
