>Emily's POV<
We ran through the rain and soon the water hitting me stopped. I was shivering and his grip on my hand softened and left. I wiped my eyes and opened them. I was in a house, but it was not mine. It looked very cozy, almost like a log cabin, but the brick around the door made it known it was not a log cabin. The couch was brown, and the tables and the kitchen chairs were wood. There were pictures in wooden frames of the family. The boy was in about every single picture with I'm guessing his mom, and rarely his dad. Someone walked into the kitchen not blinded by the bright kitchen light, and soon noticed me.
"Omg!! You are soaking wet!! Hold on!! Let me get you towel!!"
The lady with blonde hair and a skinny body began to panic.
"It's ok mom"
Knew it. The boy rounded the corner looking dry and was carrying a towel. He walked over and handed it to me.
"Thank you"
"You're welcome"
"I am going to go get you some clothes, then I will dry yours"
I nodded as she left the way she came into the kitchen. I wrapped myself in the towel still shaking a little. Soon his mom came back with jeans and a t-shirt for me to wear. Sure they were a little big but at least once I had changed she began to dry my clothes. About an hour later I was back into my clothes and warm. The wind was picking up speed and the lightening was so bright I thought I died and was in heaven.
"So what's your name?"
"Emily"
"I'm Brax"
"And I'm his mom, call me Karen"
I smiled as she got up to go pour herself some coffee. She sat back down and handed Brax and I some hot chocolate. I smiled and took a sip. I smiled as the warmth ran down my throat.
"So what happened?"
I remembered how bloody my hands were and how bad the pain was when she cleaning them with alcohol. I remembered wincing everytime the cloth touched my skin.
"I was outside skateboarding. I didn't think the storm would come that quick. Then I fell off when Brax came.."
She seemed to believe me. I couldn't tell her that my head started pounding and I could feel the storm was coming quickly; she'd think I was crazy just like Mary thought. She yawned and waved.
"I'm super tired. Yall gonna be okay tonight?"
"We'll be fine"
Brax's mom, Karen, stood up and walked away after putting her mug in the sink. Brax stood up and motioned for me to follow him. I followed him up the stairs and into his room. The rain beat hard against his window and I sat in the windowsill looking outside. I got that same feeling inside and smiled. I patted the spot next to me and looked at Brax.
"Come here"
He hesitantly walked over and sat.
"Look"
I pointed out the window at all the darkness.
"Look at what?"
"The lightening.."
"There is no-"
Just then a loud BOOM cut him off. He was stunned. He looked at me, seriously freaked out.
"How did you know that would happen?!"
Tell him. You've never told anyone. Wouldn't you like for at least one person to know? I took a deep breath. It'll be okay... hopefully.
