Chapter 4 - A new day
~Sandra
We finally done with moving our stuff in and I wasn't even surprised when my mom brought new decor pieces and a couch.
And I would say my room doesn't look that bad even though that's still some stuff it needs to make it complete , but that's a problem for another day.
I'm now siting on my bed ,doing the homework that I got.
Thank goodness it's only just English Literature and AP Calculus
"Sandra, Dinner !" My mom yells downstairs
"Coming mom !" I close my literature book and my workbook and head downstairs.
I could smell the delicious scent of spaghetti and meatballs when I walk in the kitchen.
"Dinner is served" She places down the bowl filled with spaghetti and meatballs in front of me and gives me my fork
I smile and walk to the lounge and sit my butt on the soft new couch
"Ahh, now this is heaven"
I hear my mom chuckle as she enters the lounge and sits next to me.
"So are you ready for your interview tomorrow ?" I ask after swallowing my spaghetti
My mom twirls her fork and sigh " I mean I did prepare and I'm sure ready , but I'm so nervous , what if I do bad and I don't get the job and I won't be able to afford everything , it's really a lot of pressure"
"Then don't think of the pressure, you got this okay ?"
My mom smiles as she nods. I don't even know why my mom is so worried I know she is going to nail this.
"But enough about me , tell me how was your first day of school , did you make any friends ? , how do you like your classmates ?. Come on I want details"
"Mom , it was just a normal first day"
"So you're didn't make any friends or bump into guy who was so kind that he picked up your fallen book" Mom says as she puts her bowl a on the coffee table and faces me
"No mom that only happens in Rom coms but I did bump into a guy" I say pushing back my glasses
My mom squeals as if I was telling her I'm getting married
"Wait you bumped into a guy , who does he look like , what's his name ?"
"Mom it's not what you're thinking I mean yes I bumped into a guy but he wasn't sweet at all"
My mom's smile turns upside "Okay then what did he do that was bad ?"
As I bumped into him , He yelled at me and told me to look where I was going."
"Wow chivalry is really dead." Mom mumbles to herself "So did you see how he looked like ?"
I shook my head "No I only saw that he was wearing a navy blue hoodie"
"Oh but don't worry maybe the second day will be better then the first" My mom wraps her arm around my shoulder and I rest my head on her shoulder
"I hope so mom" I sigh. I mean Reighton High is not a bad school , it's just that I'm gonna have to get used of my new surroundings and get used to new people
Plus I'm gonna have to figure out how to make at least one friend to make my mom happy since she sacrificed so much for me the least I could do is make her happy.
