Chapter 12 : Heart break.
~Sandra
I gently put him down on my bed , making sure I don't hurt him too much , I mean he was already in so much pain by moving up the stairs. I don't want him to suffer anymore.
He's eyes are close and his chest is moving up and down in deep breaths.
I softy clear my throat but it's enough for him to hear me "I'll go get the first aid kit"
"Hmm" he responses. I look back at him before closing the door and walking straight into the bathroom, I just hope he doesn't die on my bed.
I grab the white bag with a red plus sign in the in the cabinet. I zip open the bag and see white rolled bandages, moist wipes , transparent band-aids strips , popsicle sticks and tunes of creams. I grab a small white face cloth , I grab the oval container that carries unopened toothpaste and soap bars. I empty everything out and pour warm water into it , also throw the cloth inside.
I carry the first aid with one hand and with another I'm holding the bowl. I walk out the bathroom and straight to my bedroom. I place the water on the bed stand and the bag next to Lucas.
I start by wiping the blood off , of his arm and each time the cloth would come contact with his bruised arm he would flinch , leaving me with repeating "Sorrys" every 5-10 seconds.
Honestly a small part of me wanted to yell "Suck it up and be a man!" But knowing if the tables were turned I wouldn't be flinching. I would be crying and yelling at him to take me to the damn hospital. So I keep my mouth shut.
He softly chuckles "Man I haven't felt this much pain like this in forever"
"I'm guessing this has happened before" I say softly
"Yeah" He smirks. My eyes widen in shock. How can he smile about that ?...well smirk.
He continues "I have this tendency of not doing what I have been told to do"
"Oh"
I unpeel the paper on the band-aids and stick it on his wound. I press on it making sure it stays there. The blood starts spreading in the water as I throw the blood stained cloth similar to how the essences of a rooibos teabag spreads in hot water.
"Can you bring your right to me ?"
He grunts and throws his arm directly in front of me. If I was any closer then I am right now, he would have slapped me.
"Um" I comment. His arm is not in the position I need it to be. I try twisting it a little but he instantly pulls his arm out of my grip. I deeply sigh "How about you sit up so I can clean you up properly"
He doesn't respond, instead he moves his legs to the edge of the bed and he reaches his arms to me. I grab his wrists and pull him up but that doesn't go without Lucas grunting in pain.
He must've felt that...
I kneel down in front of him and go back to work on his arm. I wipe the oozing blood off but I then discover a deep nasty cut above his wrist.
Suddenly I hear him chuckle. I look up to see him staring at me. His gray eyes are finally open.
"I knew some day you would be bowing down to me"
I roll my eyes "Ha , Me? Bow down to you?
"You are kneeling in front of me aren't you ?"
"Shut up" I mutter as I wipe the blood for like the third time now.
