Chapter 21: Crimson cheeks
~Sandra
The sound of the laughter and cheers of people becomes audible to our ears after walking in the town fair.
The waitress that served us breakfast at the diner we went to suggested we go check out the market fair and she also suggested Lucas to visit her apartments to "Get to know each other better", but thankfully Lucas was able to her in her place.
"Out all the places we can hang out, you choose for us to be stuck around people whom 80% of them probably haven't showered and look at junk they're selling", Lucas says with a deadpan look plastered on his face. Isn't wrong to say that kinda makes him more attractive?
YES !
I sigh at my stupidity as I look around the tents and stands people put up.
"Its a great experience, we might even learn something"
He shakes his head as he rolls his eyes.
"Okay fine, how about we buy each other something we think that we might like."
"Oh now you want us to waste money too ?" He says making my shoulders to slump down.
"Please, Lucas" I plead, pouting my bottom lip out
He stares at me, his cloudy gray eyes invading mine. This causes my heart to beat a little fast.
Gray is suddenly my new favourite colour.
He sighs, his warm breath fanning my cheeks.
"Why are you always so difficult ?" He whines pouting his bottom lip out, I guess to mock me.
I giggle a little before clearing my throat, "Please"
He runs his hand through his hair and sighs, "Fine, but I'm gonna buy you the most cheapest and the most ugliest thing I can find"
I shrug, "Fine by me"
"And", he adds, "I get to choose where we go next"
"Okay" I say walking to the first tent we come across. I hear Lucas groan behind me as we stop to the worn out green tent. Wooden antique are clustered on the rectangluar table.
My eyes set on the a small oak jewellery box with floral carving and a cute gold lock screwed on it.
"Beautiful jewellery box isn't it, dear ?" The old lady asks who is standing behind the table
"Yeah, how much is it ?"
"Only $85, dear " She responds, her sweet smile almost convincing me to buy it, but I only have $50 since I paid for our breakfast.
"Oh." I look over to see Lucas shaking a snow globe, paying no attention me or the lady.
"Lucas ?"
"I'm not buying you that thing" he says putting the snow globe down and I groan.
"Is that knife ?" He asks the lady
"Yes this a pocket knife" She hands it to him. He press the small part of the of the wood casting that is sticking out and a sharp blade shoots out with a pointy tip.
He smirks, "How much is this ?"
"$24, my boy"
He pulls out $50 out of his pocket and gives it to the lady. She then returns him his change while my jaw is slighty hanging.
"You're jerk"
He chuckles, "I know"
I roll my eyes and walk away from the tent. Lucas follows me while he plays with his little knife.
