At least I'm not balding.

Chapter nineteen - At least I'm not balding.

After an embarrassing and quite demeaning moment in which Peter had to explain why he had said, 'God I am such a nerd.' apparently out loud during detention, they finally arrived at Stark/Avengers tower.

As the car rolled to a stop Peter sprung out the car slinging his bag across his shoulder as he rushed to open the door for MJ only to find she had already opened it for herself and climbed out. He looked back to see Happy had rolled down his window and mouthed,

'Desperate.'

At Peter who had responded with frowning playfully and responded with,

"At least I'm not balding."

Happy had then rolled up his window and drove off.

"Peter. Hurry up." MJ said behind him. Peter spun around and led MJ towards the gates of the tower. He then said 'Hello' to the receptionist, Anna, because he was nice,
then he ushered MJ through the security gate, usually, he swung into the house and scared the shit out of Miss Potts and the people who had been walking into the living room at the time he would do that, but he couldn't really come and do that to MJ.

"Michelle Jones, nice to see Peter has another friend other than Ned Leeds."

MJ smiled up at the ceiling.

"I like you." She said.

" I like you too, I am called FRIDAY but you can call me Fri." The A.I. said.

"Hi Fri. You can call me MJ." MJ said.

"Of course MJ," FRIDAY responded.

"The missing person case is back. The team has been alerted of your presence." The A.I. said as Peter crosses the security gate. "Nice to see you are actually using the front door."

"Damn, I'm going to tell dad to tone down your sarcasm and rude comments levels," Peter muttered.

"LaNgUagE!" Is what the A.I. responded with. Tony had programmed her to say 'LaNgUagE!' whenever someone swore as a way to remember Steve. It was a sweet gesture but it was very, very, I repeat very irritating. 

MJ laughed and suddenly Peter realized what a beautiful sound it was. He grinned as he walked over to the elevator.

"Come on MJ." He said to her, "Ready to see your surprise?"

MJ shrugged and nodded acting as indifferent as she could. As Peter turned around again she quickly shook her head as if that she was shaking a thought out of her brain. 

Peter gently took her hand and led her into the elevator. He called out, 

"Level 59, please." There was a soft beeping noise and they could feel the lift move up. 

"You promise I'll love the surprise?" MJ asked as she gently removed her hand from Peters, hurt he looked down and their unjoined hands before after a moment of letting her question sunk in he quickly responded with, 

"Er, uh- Yes, of course, uhm." He then laughed awkwardly. 

She smiled sweetly back and opened her mouth when  

'ding' 

The classic sound rang when an elevator hit its floor. MJ shut her mouth as the doors slid open. Peter then guided her out of the elevator to show,

"Pepper Potts and Natasha Romanov?!" 

MJ gaped at her two female idols apart from, Malala (I have a feeling she would like her? (I dunno ('cause I love Malala))). 

"Peter, what the hell?" She practically growled as she spun back around to face him. He stuttered as he rushed out an answer,

"Well, you see, um, you were, uh, mad at me and I, er, thought you would like to hang out, uh, with them and -" 

"Peter!" MJ cut him off. "This is the best surprise ever!" 

She wrapped her arms around him.

"I could kiss you!" She said before spinning back around and starting to chat with the two ladies in front of her. Natasha sent a look over her shoulder at Peter to see him completely bright red right to the tips of his ears. She chuckled and continued to converse with MJ.

When Peter walked into the lab he was practically dancing. Tony looked up from the suit he was working. He took in his expression and the way he was walking he looked back down to his work and asked, 

"A girl?" 

Peter jerked to a stop as he slowly looked over to his father.

"A girl? A girl, She isn't just a girl! She might as well be a Valkyrie! Or one of Artemis' hunters, she is the strongest most amazing -" 

"Pete, if you want advice on how to date girls you shouldn't come to me." Tony interrupted laughing. He looked over confused. 

"What do you mean?" 

"I happen to be very very gay?" Tony said as if his son was dumb. Peter looked like he had only just realized that his father was gay. 

"Oh, right. I can tell you about her though." Peter said. Tony nodded. Peter spent the rest of the time gushing about how amazing MJ was until Tony was sick of hearing about her, he was just happy that his son was happy.  

When Bruce walked in 4 hours later as Peter was still talking about MJ he very slowly backed out of his labs ignoring the pleading eyes of Tony. 

Clint had been in the vents the entire day and when he was climbing past the lab he could hear Peters energetic voice prattling on about how amazing she is at drawing in her crisis sketchbook. He chuckled and continued his trek.  

Loki had been taking a walk through the tower trying to find Thor when he passed the lab, even though he had gotten strict instructions to not go to those levels, all the Avengers ignored it anyways. He heard Peter chatting to Tony about a girl. So he bolted. 

Thor had been hiding from Loki the entire day, why? Because he had accidentally broken the antler off of his helmet. He had snuck past the lab holding the broken antler and helmet in one hand and a box of pop tarts in the other. He had listened secretly to Peter babble about MJ for half an hour before he remembered what he was supposed to be doing.  

So that's chapter something. 

I'm so sorry about the late update!! I had this in my drafts and completely forgot I needed to finish it. 

Do you think I should do a field trip chapter to stark towers?
